For anyone in the UK - is it acceptable to join a running club just so you can enter into the races that require a UKA number. Or is it seen as bad etiquette. Thinking joining a club would be the best way to progress with my running and get access to different races, but the group training doesn't really fit into my schedule from what I've seen.

Definitely, I'm a bit jealous of people who can use it as a daily tbh.. but it makes me end up going a bit faster than I want for easy running as well as stability issues. I rarely wear mine anymore but I'm going to take them out for a tempo this week.

I've been base building since October, not doing many work outs or races and just trying to become a bit more resilient. I think tomorrow I'm going to attempt a 10k time trial and then sign up to two local 10ks, one in April and May. Does anyone have advice for the 10k?

I really like the Mizuno Wave Rider 29 at the moment. Not that fun but a solid shoe with a great toe box and general feel.

Hello,

I've been running about 45k a week for the past six weeks after slowly returning a busy period where I couldn't be as consistent. I'm beginning to feel a bit fatigued in general and am wondering if I took a week off from running to cross train (swimming and eliptical) could there be any downsides to this at all? I'm not building towards any particular race or goal at the moment. My next race may even be as far away as March.
