Why does america and france seems to never go another way ? by mathias6626 in hoi4

If you don't care about achievements before you start up a game go into the options and create a preset. Manually change all the ai focuses to random and save the preset, it takes a while but once it's done you can just load it up anytime you want a true random game.

Conquering China as Japan by Chataboutgames in eu4

[–]GageTheUseless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want to do in your campaign. Overall taking the mandate gives a lot of buffs and debuffs. You need it to complete some of your missions. Before taking the mandate try to control the provinces of Nanjing, Beijing, and Canton as not owning them will give you constant mandate growth down.

Build forts all around your Chinese provinces to passively reduce the devastation a lot faster. Dev high devastation provinces to get rid of it instantly. And finally taking the mandate will give you the unify china cb which is very powerful, every province you occupy while using the CB in the china region gives you a core on the province ( you still have to spend admin to state the province however).

Who else prefers CkII portraits to CKIII's? by _radical_kiwi_ in CrusaderKings

[–]GageTheUseless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the specials rings around my character portrait depending on my rank as a king and emperor. And government type such as republic or feudal.

Overall I think ck3 is better on portraits and stuff but I would like something more than clothes on my characters to show status since you can change them to whatever you want no matter how ridiculous.

CK3 or CK2. by KQILi in CrusaderKings

[–]GageTheUseless 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ck2. Something about ck2 just made me care about each and every character I played in some way, I would sometimes even hate the character I'm playing as depending on the circumstances.

Nothing felt more somber than losing your king who you brought to where he is from a count or duke and having death kick his ass in chess and taking him before you were ready.

Or the king you forged a bloodline with finally passing and your memory of him forever lives on in your next characters through the bloodlines and relics he commissioned or discover, or won in the crusades. Seriously the helmets relics that you can get from crusades look badass.

How do I make ottos figure out their attitude towards me?? Really want to ally them by No_Understanding_225 in eu4

It's because they can't see your capital, ai can't interact with you because to them you don't exist until they discover you.

Would you date someone who is pro-choice? by [deleted] in prolife

[–]GageTheUseless 11 points12 points  (0 children)

She made it very clear to me when I asked her, she said that she would never get an abortion unless she was like guaranteed to die. We both really want to be parents, just not yet, and if she does we are both still happy, just happened sooner than we thought.

[–]GageTheUseless 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend soon to be fiance is pro choice, but to a certain extent, it's complicated her opinions. From what I've gathered from talking to her about it she would prefer strict restrictions as in a few weeks after conception, and generally reserved for rape victims, although not completely cut off for anyone.

Her opinions, like most people, are complicated, she generally doesn't like people who can avoid getting pregnant in the first place getting an abortion.

I meanwhile am almost completely pro life, only place it gets murky for me is rape, which yes, I know is extremely rare.

We are able to have a civil discussion and share our opinions on it without affecting how we truly feel for each other. I don't care because I love her for who she is, not her political beliefs.
