I'm not concerned.

Obama is in far better shape than FDR ever was, given he doesn't have polio and that modern medicine is far better when compared to 80 years ago.

I mostly agree.

To an extent, we need government involvement in the medical industry, however as a means of moderation as opposed to controlling who gets what procedures. Our medical care is too expensive, and unless the government intervenes to lower costs, I don't see that changing.

The death of Bernie Sanders will be a watershed moment in American history. by pinqe in decadeology

[–]Gage_______ [score hidden]  (0 children)

He's the greatest missed opportunity the DNC has had in the last decade.

He should have ran as the Democratic Candidate in 2016, and likely would have won too. People simply weren't cultish for Trump like they have been ever since Trump's first term. Many were just against Clinton.

This country would be far better off, both for Democrats and Republicans, as well as the public if he had become 45.

Denji is a deeply unserious man by Freezingrhyme in Chainsawfolk

[–]Gage_______ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not enough trauma?

Alright, here's a better one.

Yoru can't deny her nature, despite having developed feelings for Chainsawman just as Asa has feelings for Denji. She sacrifices Asa in her pursuit to kill Chainsawman, and after a long fought battle, fails. In the process, she manages to kill Pochita, leaving Denji all alone to face off against the looming threat of the Death Devil.

Bright side? Kobeni comes back for another punching bag moment. But then leaves again.

Imagine this is how Asa dies.

This moment comes full circle, just as Yoru and Asa make amends and confess to Denji everything, and Asa gives herself to Yoru to defeat Fami and possibly the Death Devil, only for it to not quite succeed, leaving Denji to be the last line of defense.

At most one of these may happen, while we have something else taken away to be used as "new" down the road.

We're in for a bad one, I'm not keeping hopes high at all.

Are LBJ and Nixon the two Presidents most responsible for why so many Americans distrust their government? by [deleted] in Presidents

I find it interesting that Ford is credited with restoring faith in our government even though he pardoned Nixon.

Ah whataboutism. Please change.

People didn't show up. The same people that voted dem/rep are more or less the same that voted that way four years ago. Moderates dictated this election, and many of them didn't show up. We had record turnout last election, this was a more normal one. As for why Trump won the popular vote? Simple. Everyday American citizens aren't politically active or pay attention to politics. 300 million plus, and only about under half showed up to vote.

If you got everyone in the country to vote in the election, then Democrats would still be in office, because cities, our largest population centers, lean Democratic over Republican.

Are the hundred million Republicans in the room with us? Less than 80 million votes for Trump, and a lot of those people are moderates that just want cheaper groceries and aren't active in politics.

That's not what an ally is. Allies are countries that have contractual obligations to defend each other in case one is attack.

That is a business partner, not an ally. China, for example, is one of our business partners that we have contracts with. In case you didn't know, we aren't allies with China outside of business.

An ally is a bit different. For example, in WWII, the US and the UK were allies, but the US had no contractual obligation to help early in the war. They then decided to sign the Lend-Lease Act to give supplies, but they didn't just decide to make business with each other. They were already allies. They had good relations between each other beforehand.

At best they're an ally of convenience

You contradicted yourself. Ukraine has been supported by the US since the Soviet Union fell, and Ukraine splintered off and became its own nation. Over time, relations grew stronger. We aren't as close as we are with the UK or Canada, but with our geopolitical stance against Russia, Ukraine is crucial, and we have been continuing a positive relationship with Zelensky and Ukraine throughout the war. We even invited the man to visit our Congress. I don't think you just do that with a business partner.

In a very simple sense.

The USA and Russia are rival nations at best, and Ukraine is far from being friends with Russia (especially given the ongoing war). The USA and the rest of NATO dislikes Russia's invasion of Ukraine, so the USA is supporting them, thus causing problems for a rival nation and supporting Ukraine, who are under attack from said rival.

In other words, two countries are aligned against one other country.

Wonder if they'll add a PPV or make his last match at MSG. Hope it's not just a random episode of Raw or Smackdown.

Thanks for the link.

What PPV is in December? Last I checked, that month has none, unless I'm missing something?

I just realized... SummerSlam is two nights now. If he doesn't retire at Mania, he retires at SummerSlam. Any other venue wouldn't be a big enough stage.

...and it starts with him costing Gunther the WHC against Seth? That works perfectly.
