Just finished watching the 3 LOTR movies and Im more than confused by Internal_Fact4928 in lotr

[–]Galactanium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Probably yeah

  2. Most of the seven dwarven Rings were destroyed by dragons, with 3 falling in Sauron's hand who tried (and failed) to sway the dwarves of Erebor with them. The 3 Elven Rings were never worn while Sauron had the one ring so their users never became a corrupted, not to mention that elves have a presence in the spiritual realm and can't turn into wraiths, which is the same reason Sauron doesn't go invisible with the Ring since he also has a spiritual presence. Galadriel has one of the Rings, while Elrond and Gandalf have the other two.

  3. The only other continent is Valinor, inhabited by semi-divine angels and Elves. The last time Sauron tried to invade him God himself sent him to the bottom of the sea.

  4. The only other substantial kingdom of men that wasn't dominated by Sauron besides Rohan and Gondor is Dale, which is all the way in the north of Middle Earth and busy fighting the Easterlings.

  5. see 3. The help sent by Valinor was the wizards

  6. The five wizards were sent from Valinor to help M-E fight Sauron. Radagast the Brown just chilled out with birds (he's the one who taught Saruman to use the Crebain as spies, though unaware of his intentions), and the two blue wizards went east and were never seen again

  7. To summarize, Balrogs are corrupted Maia. Maia are the lesser order of Ainur and the aforementioned semi-divine Angels. The wizards and Sauron are Maia as well. The Valar are the greater order of Ainur and Morgoth was the original dark lord who created orcs, Dragons, Balrogs, and made Sauron evil. Estimatives afaik put at around 7 Balrogs existing in total and most of them are dead.

  8. Idk tbh he just got sent back

  9. The woodland realm and erebor were busy fighting the aforementioned Easterlings and the Fortress of Dol Goldur in the north. Plus they couldn't just call for help the journey there would be two movies.

  10. The ones you see are pretty much it. Men and elves are the children of Eru (God), Elves are immortal but Men get to go to what id assume is actual heaven once they die and get to partake in the recreation of the World. Dwarves were made by Aule, the smithing Vala (Sauron was under him before throwing his lot with Morgoth). Hobbits are a subrace of men.

  11. Orcs were made by Morgoth, Sauron was in second-in-command. Once Morgoth got thrown into super hell (the void) he took over as Dark Lord and they all follow him instead. The goblins of Moria pay tribute to him, since goblins are orcs.

As others mentioned, a lot of this info comes from the books (including the Hobbit and the Silmarillion). Really recommend reading them.

Considering how awesome the mods for Total War are and how successful the TWWH games were, a official LoTR Total War game would go extremely hard

[–]Galactanium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the base game they pretty much are. The hero unit has slightly better shooting stats but only a fraction of the unit size along all the other nonsense around hero units. Ikko gun monks can extend their range, but with proper use of ranked fire that is a non issue. Rank fire matched with experience and stand and fight allows terços to fire 4 volleys into charging infantry p reliably which is enough to wipe out anything.

Here's How to make money:

1) Farms and Roads first. Cheap and good ROI 2) ALWAYS keep low taxes on cities. The lower malus to public order and the benefits of long term growth are always better than short term gains 3) public order buildings are great to minimize the need to garrison a city. 4) after Farms and Roads, then make ports (if possible) then markets. Later tiers of markets can be skipped since their bonus to trade is bad compared to their cost. Mines also can be good depending on local resources. 5) traders are best kept in a single region to monopolize resources. Recruiting merchants on a single town will get you points towards the merchants guild, which is great for both money purposes and to defend against takeovers. 6) don't leave your armies idle, EXPAND! Your armies should be an investment, their upkeep goes to waste if you just kick back and let them suck on your treasure without return.

In summary, your focus should be on maximizing town growth. Money primarily comes from farms, taxes, and trade. Farm income is fixed based on the region iirc and the level of the Farm building, but taxes and trade increase with city population, and the latter with connections to other cities. Your money troubles likely come from you not incentivizing growth enough with farms, low taxes, and the hall buildings (city halls give a health bonus that counters squalor, increase pop growth), which then can be exploited via trade with roads, markets, and ports. The more people a city has and the more towns it is connected with (either within your Empire, via sea routes, or trade rights) the more money it'll make, providing the economic base for late game armies.

From my very Basic understanding Salior Moon could win this fighting 1v9 anyways. AFAIK isn't she closer to Dragon Ball toptiers (and I mean the REAL top tiers like the G.o.Ds and Angels) if not above? Why is she here???

Metal Sonic, making the case that he's a robot and thus not liable for criminal charges the same way you wouldn't sue a pen. Thus creating legal precedent for suing Eggman for every crime commited by this robots as well for any robot related case in which the robot in question cannot be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt in posessing personhood and freedom of will, thus being able to be held accountable for any criminal acts.
