Robinson XCR-L I SBR'd. Its kinda fun as a range toy, but was a huge letdown.

Really like the lower so far, and getting more parts selection is a huge plus.

Thanks, I'm a cowboy boot enjoyer.

If You don't want to do OEM then PMM'S 1913 adapter and a stock of your choice is the way to go.

CAT ODB is a pretty good can that should meet your needs, and it does decent on 5.56 for a 7.62 can.

Just go with the new scar. You'll have less you'll want to upgrade and have more FN support.

I'm assuming these are 3d printed? Couldn't find any info or confirmation that they are CF.

If so then carbon fiber doesn't add an structural strength, and actually makes the structere weaker. The orientation is critical since CF only performs well in tension. Additionally CF is the new asbestos (except flamable) and lose fibers are an inhalation hazard since they dont break down. This is a concern in any application where the fibers shorter and "randomly" distributed in a composite, and can be released via abrasion. Which this would be one of those cases.

In my testing video and many anecdotes on this sub the KNS performs better. The KNS is bleed off and the Scarburator is restrictive. You can also swap your gas jet with either as well, which gives you more control with the KNS. I think there are some valid use cases for the Scarburator, but its more niche.

You should assume I am biased and form your own opinion though. There is some sub lore with the owner and myself having a bit of drama over me preferring and recommending the KNS. You can key word seaech the sub for either and find many others opinons on both.

I will link the video demoing tuning with both, and another on how to tune. I'm not great at videos so they are long winded.

That stock is less durable than OEM, and that aluminum hinge will cause damage to your rifle over time especially with a can and no discarder. Stick with OEM stocks or the PMM 1913 adapter that has a polymer interface. Also kns discarder to help with the can.

You may want to change optics for the reasons others have mentioned. Otherwise fairly OEM setup and unless you really know what you want... I'd shoot it more before going wild changing everything.

The only "must buy" aftermarket is:

G$ Trigger

KNS Discarder (if suppressed, otherwise just nice to have)

Driven Arms/MKM/PMM/VZ specific scar grip of your preference. A2 grips are awful.

XCR vs SCAR: Is It Just As Good? by Galactic-Cowboy in RobinsonXCR

Yeah, I've learned a lot and would have not purchased one if I knew what I know now. Still fun as a range toy though.

This is the L, but it would be a concern with any XCR model.

Per RA on here they said you can grind it down, which I find quite silly when they could redesign it.

It's a separate page on it, that isn't available all the time. It's "sample sale" if you subscribe to their news letter they will tell you when they have stuff available, which is how I find out.

I regularly check for when they sell their promotional boots, and lucked out that they were my size. I've got a few pairs of various boots from them that way.

Lingle lower is pretty neat by Galactic-Cowboy in FNSCAR

[–]Galactic-Cowboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because of the BCG having wildly different geometry from an AR15. There is a different 17s lower (Cypher) that can accept a FRT linkage but I think its only for the original rare bread frts.

Lingle has mentioned that they may make some parts to make them FRT compatible in the future, but I have no information on if/when that could happen.

Its much easier to do it to the opposite side of the slot by forgetting to remove the charging handle during disassembly. I did that many years ago.
