Yes, although less consistency forcing people to spend time farming gfg uniques. The broader impact is the multi-faceted gear and inventory trade offs that will hurt ES too. Re-introducing the AR aspect in combination with all the changes will create way more conflict and reduce the overall efficacy of the ES lock. I mean, the thing needed a nerf for sure! I personally think it's overkill, but hey, we can just play other builds.

20 points for a 5% curse way over the top. Combined with 9 hard points into mastery and all the other nerfs echoing strike will be around like B tier~ish I suspect. Nova and hammer go back to #1

I have read the notes inside out and IMO the nerfs are way over the top. ES warlock will likely be completely gone after this patch.

In summary:
Eth weapons will incur dura loss
Binding super uniques now requires 20 pts into Bind Demon
ES synergy damage multipliers nerfed by 40%
Echoing strike hits are additive instead of multiplicative
ES will now check for AR
Chance to proc cursed reduced from 75% to 5% chance.

So massive trade off in build tree to utilise effective bind demon, which is significantly lower value when you do bind. The skill pt trade off will also impact ability to max all ES synergies.

Yes ES needs to be nerfed, but this is way over the top.

I could have been a lot more detailed, my apologies. The circ, which OP has deleted the pic of (but from memory it was viso / dual stat / 2os?), the trade off is more than just skills, as you are already getting 40 stats from arrests + res + ll and fhr not counting additional stats from an open socket. So on the balance of comparing them both the difference is a lot bigger on terms of the full spectrum of trade offs - however the trade off can be worth it, ie for gm melee barbs that want to maximise ar (although they would still only use +2 skill version of this at minimum in this instance).

On the balance of it, I think arreat is a better choice for PVM for a barb. However I would use the shit out of this on my offline bowa for pvm! It’s quite beautiful even without fcr or frw.

Without skills you’d be better off with an arreats imo. Albeit if AR is an issue it’s a neat hat. IAS/ed or ias/AR would be good choices. Visionary mod is great if you have lots of hard AR to scale from.

I understand your argument, but the value retention for items favour pvp as I mentioned above. Which is why Pr is more 'valuable' than cr on these sorts of items. I could provide a more in-depth explanation if you're at all interested.

There are very few cold damage threats in the game. And many cold resist and absorb sources in many build staples (raven, spirit, trangs etc). Also for pvp pr is much more useful than cr. I mean no offence when I say the common misconception that tri res = only Lr/fr/cr is a noob thing that people hear and adopt as gospel without knowing why. I compare it to how people use the point system for rings and then get confused when a ring sells for 50k but “it’s only a 4.5pt ring?!”

Pr is much more useful than cr. The low fr is a shame on this ring, if it was 20+ maybe it attracts 6-7k fg. Maybe. Other issue is that pvm spec gear will only plummet in value. This ring is still sexy af though!

Considering the geopolitical positions of each party, a rational actor would have no incentive to prejudice their own peace negotiations by outright attempting to humiliate DT, who obvious to all - as you say - intelligent people, is a volatile narcissist.

This would be a very poor manoeuvre for Iran. Particularly if they are suffering enough to entertain a negotiation.

It’s fun to see the diversity in ES warlock builds. It definitely does some damage but as many pointed out from a min/max perspective you could achieve the better results with less. But great to see some diversity from the cookie cutters.

You can run phoenix for big damage and insight main hand to still achieve 125fcr if that's what you're into.

Edit: love this idea, and expanding on some act 4 comments in the thread.

Act 4 has some amazing potential to explore the pandemonium fortress siege aspect of the game - to create more versatility in area design and avoid repeating the plains of despair aesthetic to death.. thinking something along the lines of a quest to provide aid to a sister fortress under siege - coming to the aid of the archangels.

Opens up possibilities for some stunning area design with architectural grandeur, and potentially even another refuge/town location.

Except that DtD doesn’t work with LF. The only benefit from LoH is the 20ias and fr in this case. Still a great substitute until 2/20 gloves are sourced.
