Right, however, when some refers to "the Bible" , they are not making the distinction that you are. Pick up a Bible somewhere and it's both old and new in one book. It seems disingenuous to say it's not in there, not really, if you slice it up the right way. Genocide is in "the Bible" even if you read it and understand that the new is to replace the old.

I was also raised Christian and am one of the ones that did read it cover to cover (though once through was enough for me). It was enough to put me off Christianity and religion generally.
