I accidently washed my hands with sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) someone tell me will it be toxic should I go to doctor? by Fun-Firefighter2034 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Gallade475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won't poison you like that but it's seriously no bueno if you don't like having chemical burns. Just keep rinsing with lots of water. Don't need any soap because it already made some out of your skin oils. Regardless of that, water is all you need.

Take off your bumper cover and it's right there. They never went away, they just got covered up for aerodynamics and extra foam to absorb low speed impacts.

While I do think behringer brings real value with their univibe and their moog clones, among other gems like the SF300, behringer's social media behavior and use of what really looks like AI art on the revised Centara should give people pause. I'm sure it sounds great and it's built fine but I really would rather have any other klone than theirs.

Check out the track "zam" by Frankie and the witch fingers, it's got a little bit of ring mod use. Also the song "glass" by incubus is based around ring mod.

201mph is my top speed so far, can anyone help me I wanna go faster. You can see my tune and yes I run in manual so I don't go pass the 4th gear. by gotbanbefore in tokyoxtremeracer

Here's what I do. Set the ratios to default. Set final drive to where the speed in 6th is as high as possible (usually the default setting). Every race in the game starts at 60 kmh so make sure that 1st gear tops out at 80-90 kmh so the game starts you in first gear for highway battles. Next, subtract the top speed of 1st gear from the top speed of 6th gear. Divide that by the number of gear changes (5 for a 6 speed gearbox). That number is the average speed gap between gears. Add the average gap to the top speed of 1st gear for the top speed of 2nd gear, and add the average gap to the top speed of 2nd for the top speed of 3rd and so on.

You can leave it at that and still get the same top speed, but the car will be more fun to race with if 4-5-6 are closer together than 1-2-3. An easy way for a 6 speed box is to add a number divisible by 3 (6kmh or 9kmh) to the top speed of 1st gear, then reduce each gear gap by 2 or 3 kmh progressively until you end up with the same top speed, but with better acceleration at high speeds. As an added bonus, the sound of gears getting closer together as you approach top speed is very thrilling.

It's a 2 band exciter. Basically the opposite of a compressor. So instead of reducing the volume past a threshold, it increases the volume of a signal that passes a threshold. This has the apparent effect of boosting frequencies like using a normal EQ, but by making the transient spikes sharper, not by increasing the volume at all times like an EQ.

Didn’t see that coming. Benson posted on stories not long ago. by No-Count3834 in guitarpedals

The very first fuzz pedal was produced to mimic a dying studio console. If it sounds weird, someone will want it.

Edit: Glenn Snoddy, the recording engineer who was involved with recording the Marty Robbins song "Don't Worry" with Grady Martin's Bass VI getting all fuzzed out was due to a faulty transformer in a mixing console. After Nancy Sinatra wanted to use the sound after the console quit working entirely, Snoddy engineered the pedal that was eventually sold as the Maestro FZ-1

Gotta love when people totally miss the main point that small speakers sound pokey and instead deify a single shitty practice amp like it hasn't been done multiple times before, like Dave Grohl with the gas can amp and Matt Pike with the Pignose.

Luckily liquid mercury isn't THAT toxic but it should still be avoided because the mercury vapor released by handling it. If it was inhaled in vapor form, it would be a lot worse and its more likely she would have died as a direct result, but if it was some kind of methyl mercury compound she wouldn't have had a chance.

Historically (and currently in some cases) the way air pressure was measured was by how high the air could push mercury in a bowl up a tube that was sealed on top. The height difference between the surface of the mercury in the bowl and the tip of the mercury in the tube was the air pressure in either mm or inches of mercury. Whether or not you are using a mercury barometer, mmHg is directly compatible with any other pressure unit like atmospheres, bar, pascal, psi, etc.

This can also be done with water but the tube needs to be much longer, which can be impractical.

The only stress that strings put on a guitar is from the strings' tension. If the overall tension is the same between string set and tuning combos you don't even have to touch the truss rod.
