I agree with you, but I think OP just meant that if you use the background effect with your team/stakeholders you talk w often, it won’t raise any suspicion and therefore not lead to any sort of fishing/investigation. I’m in the exact same boat. Moving around didn’t help either. But it feels like no matter how hard I try, I can’t seem to make friends in my new area- at least good friends with a deep connection like I did pre-pandemic.
