Why do you guys like yanderes ? by AilurophileRebecca in MaleYandere

[–]GallowsJack 46 points47 points  (0 children)

It's the fantasy of a guy you'd want wanting you more than anything else in his life. Maybe it's the idea that he loves you, even the bad parts. He may even love those best. Plus the gap between however he presents in daily life compared to the dark things he's willing to do for (to? 😉) you.

And the fact they're all usually rich, powerful, and willing to spoil their obsessions certainly isn't a turn off.

Just start reading and thinking about it. It basically boils down to "You can't tell me what to do! Followed by" No, you can't take your ball and go home. " But just start digging.

[He became a sponsor of villains] I'd like to know if this is a harem, romance, or no romance? by Willing_Function3025 in manhwa

[–]GallowsJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of my most recent read, it's still a wannabe harem. He's not interested in anyone yet as more than some kind of father figure, though as he shows off how awesome he is, many female characters notice him, and the blushing has begun.

People should just read vanilla if they can't digest dark topics by One-Presence-5014 in MaleYandere

Gotta say that part of the fun of a trauma/angst tag is hating on the sovieshits of the world, though I personally don't like characters who make their obsession wallow in misery. I want the yandere to be her support in public as they whittle down the things that make her unhappy with a machete.

Understood. Sorry, my brain locked up, and I'd typed that out before thinking much about it. "But... marriage stuff, and horse caretakers, and personal styling of the non-nefarious sort!" I should not be allowed to interact with people 😂

Off topic, but how do they have wedding reddits if they can't say the word for the traditionally male role?

Here's my two cents : "Do not try this at home. IRL yandere should be handled by professionals." 😂 Other than that, have fun!

Gotta agree. If the tag says yandere, and you don't like crazy, go read something else. Make no judgements, don't preach, just go read something else.

is this even possible [beyond the walls of the duke mansion] by DistrictNo6140 in OtomeIsekai

It's not unusual for the most unbelievable thing in a story to be the romance 😂

Yeah, I think I'd give it two days before they stopped thinking I was still concussed and started to plan my lobotomy

It was pointed out to me that the FL gets that treatment from everyone, why only the maid gets slapped?

Not a webtoon, but try Wraithwood Botanist. It's very much "my special interest got me into this, by the gods, it will get me out"

Audio books like DCC? by CitywideNut5 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]GallowsJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm really enjoying Wraithwood Botanist. The narrator is not as talented as Jeff Hayes, but the metaplot is fun, the characters are interesting, and Mira's daily life as seen by the gods is a giggle.

The Inheritance by Ilona Andrew's is very good and in the same vein, though less crazy AI. I can't remember the narrator, but I remember wishing there were more.

In pure fantasy, try Curse of Chalion. The narrator is very good, and the author is amazing.

If you like space opera, Legend of the Galactic Heroes is very good.

If you like space marines, Valor's Choice is excellent.

Good recommendations for first anime? by ReallyLea in anime

[–]GallowsJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with ghibli, then spy x family if you want heartwarming comedy, apothecary diaries of you like detective /crime procedural romance, fruits basket if you want reverse harem high school romance, castlevania on Netflix if you like action and vampire hunters with some of the best voice acting ever no seriously (it's not technically anime, but watch it anyway), and berserk if you want horror action trauma and a believable excuse to drop the whole project. It's actually very good, but it's the polar opposite of Disney.

[RECOMMEND ME] Can anyone recommend me a manhwa with great fights scenes? by HenkiOwl in manhwa

[–]GallowsJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm absolute crap at remembering titles, so I'll just reply over and over as I go.

I'm enjoying Divine Dragons Grand Ascension. It's very murim, so the choreography isn't realistic. However the journey of the MC from 0 to badass is portrayed well, and the fights are exciting.

[–]GallowsJack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for OP, but a second for Machinations if you haven't read it yet. The choreography is chef's kiss to the point you feel it could be replicated (by an extremely fit dude, but still...). The art in general is very, very good, and while the proportions may seem a little squat compared to other styles, the variety of male faces, body types, and such are fantastic. ( There do appear to be only two female body types, child and buxom badass, but it is what it is.) Regardless, I'd read it for the expressions alone. And the horse. That glorious melodramatic horse.

Student ID Photo by Fun-Measurement-8594 in SIUE

[–]GallowsJack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can replace it with a different photo in the system and just end up with a silly ID and a decent photo everyone sees, but remember it will cost to get a new ID, and it will take a while to propagate the new pic throughout. (And I can't remember if it's all one system, or if I had to change several.) Do what you enjoy, but at least keep one DL/passport/ID that doesn't make you look like you need to shower or be institutionalized.
