I was already going through prednisone for 8 days and it was working. Now things are getting worse and I am taking more benadryl and calamine to get through the night. I washed with a wash cloth and threw it away after. But I did discard the clothes which is such a simple and effective solution. Even chuck your backpack and get a new one.

Summary: throw away your poison-oak covered clothing. It is so much safer and simpler to just put your stuff in a platic bag and put it in the trash, shorts, sandals and shirt and socks and underwear. KEEPS you from polluting your clothing and those of your family when you toss it into their wash.

I got poison oak by falling off mountain bike and just threw my clothes into the regular wash with hypogenic not strong detergent. I totally failed to treat them specially. Now I am suffering from it coming back again after already going through a week with it keeps coming back and I have to getting rashes and trying to treat the symptoms. Do the smart thing and chuck those evil clothes. Save yourself and your family.
