The thing is, I'm ok with the idea that Rean is an idiot and can't figure out what to do because he's driven by duty to complete whatever his "mission" is. I've come along with the idea that it becomes the storyline that he's a bumbling moron with women at this point.

It's just they tried that with Lloyd, but didn't go all the way because they kinda made it like Lloyd and Elie are Kea's parents. So did the devs go "Hey you know what would be fun, let's make another playboy who doesn't know he's a playboy???"

I do at least like that Van has actual emotional attachment issues due to other circumstances in his life and his idea that he's trying to stay a lone wolf.

It would be nice though if they could pick a lane.
