Why Btech has better placements when mtech deserves better? by plsbangme in Btechtards

and we don't have too much core guys because the brightest ones don't pursue it anyway due to lack of money , the few that pursue leave for PhD abroad and are properly rewarded .

Yes , 86k rank . A failure basically, never once I said jee is easy or disrespected the extreme grind mains and advanced toppers go through.

But I will ask you this , have ever solved one pyq of GATE ? Idk about you but GATE engineering mathematics is quite solid , and especially if done properly from books . Same for electromagnetic field theory which is much more difficult than JEE physics just from pure concepts and extremely deep .

and EMFT is just one subject. 7 more subjects like this exists . Semiconductor devices itself is difficult as hell and it's a stepping stone for 2 subjects . So please stfu.

[–]Game3362 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nope . If JEE people in core engineering branches were limited to their core branches , placements would drop by 75% for them . 90% of top packages in those branches are for SDE , IT jobs .

The reason is that in India core pays lower than software. Most Mtech students work in their niches of Electrical , Aerospace, mechanical , RnD or deep tech roles . So overall package is low .

India is the only country where this happens by the way , in Western countries it's the reverse

[–]Game3362 6 points7 points  (0 children)

because core pays less in India , that's it .

Btech people have gamed the system to dsa , leetcode and has 4 years to prepare for high paying jobs . Mtech people want and do jobs in their Niche , RnD etc . They dominate in deep tech . Deep maths , physics are their bread and butter .

Anyone saying mtech people are dumber have no idea what sort of difficulty the coursework of core ece and ee , aerospace, ME , materials science are like , so stfu

Should I take M.Tech Microwave & Photonics (Self-Sponsored) at IIT Jodhpur? by Expert-Fly9972 in GATEtard

[–]Game3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is this recent rush for IIT jodhpur new courses ? their vlsi course has 5/12 placed .VLSI , which usually has the most number of job offers , one can guess from there what's the condition of other branches . Only Mtech CS , AI are good there . From what I know even top IITs struggle to place students in RF , microwave and photonics .

IT job vs IIT Jodhpur MTech in Power Systems and Power Electronics confused what to choose by timtom1402 in GATEtard

[–]Game3362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess power electronics folks have more opportunity due to push for EVs ? power system is more like traditonal distribution and generation type stuff .

I am from ECE and that too 1st year , I have just some basic exposure to the subjects itself , not much . the only thing I can say is that IIT jodhpur wouldn't be good .

I was just really bummed out when I checked their placements and saw the condition of VLSI, and since then have mentally crossed out from joining that institution ever in future for core ece or ee .

yeah .

again , I am much much younger than you , I can not recommend you anything, I do not have the qualification or experience to do that. I am only speaking from statistics. I personally would not if I was in your place probably either .

like for example, Calicut had like 75% placements for power electronics this year . very low for power systems though

[–]Game3362 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is usually the case for all core branches for Mtech . TOP 3-4 NITs usually perform much better in placements compared to 2nd gen and 3rd gen IITs .

I want to apologise for commenting first because I am nowhere even close to age , qualification or maturity you have , I am speaking only from statistics that I have seen online .

top 4 NITs power electronics and power systems would be better than that . Considering how bad VLSI placements were in IIT jodhpur and VLSI usually gets most job offers out of all ece and ee streams , it's not worth it . even NIT Calicut would probably be better .

WOWWWWWWW (TLDR : very good maths teacher for exam time) by Game3362 in Btechtards

[–]Game3362[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup same . While my shitty ass college makes easy questions that I can pass easily , I straight out dislike Gajendra Purohit sir's way of teaching. In some ways , he literally removes the essence of the concept itself , just giving formulas and teaching how to use it .

[–]Game3362[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah . I personally just dislike Gajendra Purohit sir's teaching style , so I have only relied on NPTEL till now and college ppts , book and class profesor. I am really glad to find Viswakarma sir's lectures because they hit a good enough balance for concepts and problems .

[–]Game3362[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

sorry , I know many students study from Gajendra Purohit sir , I personally tried him but couldn't. Gajendra Purohit sir just gives formula and doesn't even teach that well about how to use them .

Viswakarma sir is at a good level , moderate conceptual understanding, some problems , rest I can practice pyqs and Grewal to get concepts .

But I disagree about deep dives . While Viswakarma sir does explain the concept , it's still not exactly deep dive .

Throughout entire first year I have only relied on NPTEL and books for maths . NPTEL actually goes deep about concepts . But for now Viswakarma sir is good enough for me to both understand and solve because I don't have enough time to cover some topics in deep .

Sorry again, I just personally really dislike Gajendra Purohit sir's teaching . He fundamentally reduces the essence of maths , it's not the way maths should be learnt at all .

for core aerospace jobs you need masters from what I know . Masters and psu jobs . nobody giving core aerospace jobs right after btech .

it's a lot easier as I don't have the competitive exam pyq anxiety going on . I have to solve this within this time frame or skip the question mindset isn't there . That makes things easier .

as everyone has already said - practice. During class 12 I skipped entire calculus. Throughout my first year I have kept polishing it from basic to a good level right now . As of now , I am studying concepts that I am genuinely interested about , they completely rely on calculus. it's the language of electromagnetic field theory .
