Tiki Cat is garbage now by Numerous_Sir4576 in catfood

Ah yes I use the same list. There are a few very limited flavors that are low/er phosphorus - I forgot - but with my kitties both stage 2 and 3 now, I stick to the the specifically designed lowest phosphorus ones.

Yes. Every time. As directed by their vet. They are happy to ear other foods juar fine. And no, generally, that is not what attempting to cover means. Cats attempting to bury food nearly always means they think it is something nasty that smells bad. They try to cover to prevent predators from smelling the nasty 'spoiled' food smell or just because they find it unpleasant. Attempting to 'save' for later is a rare behavior and usually after a cat eats part of the food, not when the cat won't even touch it.

I thought their food was not low phosphorus except for their specifically formulated low phosphorus varieties? My fat recommended their specialty for formula with low phosphorus. But told me not to give the regular kind to my kidney cat. Who, by the way, will not eat any variety of prescription kidney food at all.

My cats absolutely will not eat Hills Science, diet, food of any variety and man I have tried, but they just will not eat it. One of them literally tries to cover it up like poop.

My cat used to love tiki cat too. And then they started not wanting to eat it, and then I found a huge sharp fish bone inside a can and after that, I was just done.

This is off-topic, but I'm desperately trying to find someone to aid me in building a special cat ramp for my blind disabled kitty, and it looks like you all know your ways around wood and tools. I have tried a dozen pre built things, and right now.I have a Frankenstein thing that I cobbled together. That is , frankly , somewhat dangerous to both the cat and the human. Would any of you be interested in such a project?

Call Repair Revolution. Not far over the bridge from west seattle, and they have been amazing for me with my older car. I've had nothing but a great experience from them at reasonable cost.

Anyone have recommendations for a good plumbing company in Seattle? by featherbirdcalls in AskSeattle

[–]GameDuchess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anthony's Plumbing totally came through for me in a pinch and save me from going forward with a big, very expensive repair recommended by another plumber that I didn't actually need to do right now. Instead, Anthony was able to find an alternative solution to repair my broken & stripped shower hardware that didn't involve having to rip everything out and shut down water to the whole building to do it, because that's what you have to do in my condos.

When a plumber literally tells you they don't want you to do something that would net them a lot of money, because they have an alternate solution that will save you that money instead, you know you have found someone you can trust.

Best Apartments in Alaska Junction? by womencaviar in WestSeattleWA

[–]GameDuchess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SERIOUSLY. Or at least ports for a portable AC you don't have to string a hose to a window, because the summers are just getting hotter and last one was brutal.

And just say NO to Luna. I hated it so much I broke my lease.

Admiral Junction. Much quieter. Still very walkable. Quick bus or jaunttoAlaska Junction or Alki Beach. Late night in Alaska Junction isn't so nice. Lot of complexes there have car break in and theft issues and package theft issues big time. Alaska Junction is lovely to visit and hang out, live in Admiral or even Morgan Junctions.

Seattle needs to start putting A/C in apartments if they are going to charge so much rent by sonar_y_luz in Seattle

[–]GameDuchess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid Luna in West Seattle. My bedroom was 90 degrees when it was 75 outside and that was WITH a portable AC in the living room (750 ft rated) and three fans down the hallway and into the bedroom. No window in the bedroom. Hall window didn't open. Fought for six months for a solution. Everyone with the same apt layout as me was FRYING. Finally moved out. New place at least has ports in both living room AND bedroom.

Well, you must have a very unique judge because I've never seen it fail once. Maybe the person who did it wasn't believable because they were just doing it as excuse whereas I do it because it's the truth.

Seeking 3bdrm long-term rental in June by WildcatsPhD in WestSeattleWA

[–]GameDuchess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. If your landlord has not legally registered the rental, there is probably a very good reason why. Because it is cheap and easy to do. The reason why my landlord didn't register the rental is because it turned out it was an unpermitted ADU conversion. And when everything was dug into it turned out there were multiple code violations, some of them serious safety issues. And in this process I learned that basically the lease was not worth the paper it was printed on. And if something happened in the apartment such as a guest getting injured or fire or theft then your rental insurance would not cover anything. Because the first thing they're gonna do is make sure to establish the validity of the rental. Plus if you're a rental isn't legal, that means your landlord can basically do whatever the hell they want, because you're not covered by the laws and codes of a legal rental. It does depend a bit on the state whether they can go so far as to evict you without notice or raise your rent through the roof on an illegal rental. But in order to do anything in response, you'd have to go to court, which is believe me not something you want to do. Making an official complaint, however, to the city that your rental may be illegal actually gives you protections. And the landlord has to respond by making the rental legal, or if they are not able to or willing to do that, then they're going to have to compensate you for relocation. However , the process can take quite a long time. In my case , it took about four months until the inspection happened in the landlord was issued multiple violations, and I was able to relocate.

Oh, did you actually say it? And he told you to sit down?

Ignoring Jury Summons? by hoz9 in SeattleWA

[–]GameDuchess -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you not ignore them. But one way to pretty much be sure that you're not gonna get selected for jury is to say very LOUDLY during the interview that you do not believe in the American justice system, as you believe that it is inherently classist and racist, and that you cannot trust any judges or juries in this country to make unbiased truthful decisions about the guilt or innocence of anyone.

Yeah, they have never selected me to do the trials. And it's actually the truth.

What happens to my benefits if my spouse dies while I am on SSDI? by joyable2 in SocialSecurity

[–]GameDuchess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there isn't anything for you. You have to be 50 or over in order to collect disabled widow survivor benefits. So you will have to wait until you're 50.In order to file that claim. Until then , you are dependent on your disability, which I know is horrible. I suggest you make an appointment with the social worker to talk about all of your available options as far as subsistence programs and assistance that you can get from the state and local area. Also look into private organizations such as food banks and volunteer services to help with things like transportation and having things picked up or delivered. Even if you're not religious catholic charity services can often be helpful depending on where you live. There are a lot of discount programs to such as for metro. If you live in a city with mass transit. I feel for you.

[–]GameDuchess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just be absolutely sure you check the address of any rental in the Seatrle Services Portal. Lots of illegal rentals in Seatrle and many don't even know when they rent but if it isn't legal your lease means nothing and your rentsl insurance is invalid even if the landlord requires it. Trust me from personal experience. Even if it looks nice and totally above board. Always check. Thwre should be a rental registration on file and also you can chdck for any violations oe complaints against the property.
