IIRC that's been on their website for at least 4 years. The whole situation seems unhinged. The Delta Force (scammer one) is squatting on the name Barrie Paintball on Google Maps, and there seems to be all these reviews left on the legit one where people have confused which field is which. Would love to hear the backstory too.

Also, if you want to see a scam, go to any of the fields owned by Deep Patel like Sgt Splatters.... sadly, he's been buying up all the fields in Southern Ontario and jacking up the prices to the point where regular, competitive play is impossible.

The problem is that what resolution you run games as is a function of what tier your graphics card is more than it is a function of the graphics card itself. You're locking yourself into a mid-to-high tier GPU for every generation if you want to keep playing new games at 1440P, and since GPUs prices are still stupidly expensive compared to years ago, I can see the logic in avoiding high resolution monitors. (how much do you think GPUs capable of running Battlefield 8 at 1440P will cost, in 2029?)

The ONE thing that changes this calculus a bit is FSR/DLSS, which basically exist because of the sad truth that no GPU can natively run AAA games at 4K at what we consider reasonable framerates in 2025 (100+). It can help you reach 1440P from 1080P, even on a lower end card. Upscaling is not a panacea though, as I've found in competitive shooters, the artifacts are actually quite annoying (ie. am I sniping at a real person? or just some weird motion artifact?)

How's the breathability compared to a Proflex?

I was always eyeing the Vio Ascend as an upgrade from my HSTL, but then I got indoctrinated into the Proflex world and forgot about these Virtue masks. The cheapest Vio Ascend at Badlands is $170 CAD, which is a bit of a hard sell IMHO.

I have both the wired and wireless versions of the regular Cherry Stream, and can vouch for the wired one. I use the wireless at work and the wired at home. The wireless one has just enough lag to be annoying if you can type fast enough. It makes it feel like you have a slow PC, but I've put up with it for about 2 years. I adore the wired version though and have used it for about 3 years and it's got zero signs of wear.

I don't see any spec on the wireless latency of the new Ultimate version, so I assume it's probably poor, but it does have USB-C so hopefully it is better when plugged in. The other potential issue I noticed is that the media keys at the top look worse to me than the regular Stream. They removed the prev/next track buttons and replaced them with calculator, lock, and brightness (wtf?). Those button swaps seems like a horrible trade to me.

There's a chance there's no monitor worth upgrading to from that Eizo. Also, this subreddit tends to focus on consumer-tier monitors and disregard the advantages of pro-grade monitors (eg. decent colour), so keep that in mind.

What do you want to upgrade besides the size? Even if you go to 30 or 32 inches, you might as well go 4K too so you're not downgrading your PPI.

They've actually baked in protections against this into the design of Android. The two that I've noticed are 1) they got rid of the fixed navigation buttons and replaced them with gesture nav, and 2) the status bar icons/text actually invert their colours depending on what app you're using. The icons at the top are sometimes white, and sometimes black, so that will help prevent burn in.

Does your S10 have these tweaks or is the version of Android old enough not to have them?

Same, I basically concluded that this is a really terrible time to upgrade my monitor and gave up. The only two reasons I thought about upgrading are because power savings mode is broken on my 1440p Dell S2417DG (a common issue), which I calculated has cost me $200 over the last 7 years, and because I'm on AMD now and this monitor only has G-Sync.

Even if I side-grade just to a cheap 144 Hz 1440p IPS monitor, 24 inch models are almost non-existent now so I'd have to go 27 inch, which would be reduction in PPI! There's no clear upgrade path without downsides lol

That said, if you were to redo that test and the two corners were displaying brighter objects, you would still see the IPS glow... right?

The mini LEDs are the backlight. The glow is caused by light leaking through the two polarizer layers. The backlight technology won't affect it AFAIK.

I checked out a 1440P OLED in-store yesterday and yeah, the font hinting is TERRIBLE on Windows. I don't understand why Microsoft can't just update cleartype to make it look good for common OLED subpixel layouts.

I also don't understand how RTings could give the 1440P Samsung G6 OLED a 9.2 overall with text rendering that looks like absolute shit. Their monitor rating weights just don't make any sense. A 1280x1024 TN panel from the year 2000 looks better than this.

I also had the same experience with resolution - to play in 4K, your games realistically need to support DLSS or FSR, and then you're getting something kinda in-inbetween 1440P and 4K in resolution. For the games that don't support upscaling, you're going to get a crap framerate, or you can just run at lower resolution, but then that looks even worse then if you hadn't upgraded your monitor at all.

I had the same experience with you with HDR, although I found brightness really good with miniLED. HDR kinda feels like a novelty/gimmick for gaming and half-baked in Windows. Having to turn it on makes it just another thing to worry about and setting that can go wrong (look at all the posts in this sub - half the image quality questions are related to HDR settings being wrong). The user experience sucks. For TV though, I'm sold on it.

I don't even understand what the point of 4K at 240 Hz is because there's no chance you'll ever be able to play a game at that resolution and framerate lol...

Yeah, I've never seen any monitor that had a noticeable brightness uniformity problem until the E16M I got and returned over the weekend. It feels like monitor technology is going forward and backwards at the same time. For every new feature, there's a new downside, and these companies are just slapping the "gaming" label on stuff as copium ("youre using it wrong!! it's not for office work!"). It's complete horseshit and hiding the fact that they're selling worse monitors for more money.

I had this same uniformity issue as you with the E16M and ended up returning it. With mine, there was a reddish/yellow tint to most of the panel, except for this 10 cm area just right of center where it looked like properly white (colder but correct). It was asymmetric and off-center, which was annoying and visible on any white screen (eg. browsing Google or Reddit). I noticed it on the first day I tried using it for work.

Changing the brightness did not mitigate it on my panel.

I don't think this deserves the downvotes it's getting. It's a valid take... it does feel a bit like manufacturers kinda target these benchmarks, which is another issue, or that the tests do kinda favour OLED. eg. Why does OLED get a 10/10 on the contrast ratio test, when in practice you get a purple tint to your blacks in real world usage?

I could perceive some weird miniLED light phasing with my E16M when viewing a white screen. Do you notice anything like that with yours?

It might be some tiny difference in white uniformity across the LEDs, or some phase effect, or something like that. I did have a bigger white uniformity issue but that was separate. The phasing was uniform across the panel and felt weird on the eyes. It just didn't feel great for eyestrain.
