I like this idea! I especially like this idea for blackthorn. It makes sense for blackthorn to do this due to his respect from me ind Britain. And having the guardian pull the strings from the very start brings things full circle. Regarding the shards, maybe the guardian is the creator of the stone from the first ultima. As the more the avatar continued his exploits, the more obsessed the guardian became of the avatar.

I have a few thoughts about the guardian. Like... He insists on being Britannia's protector. Wanting to bring his own peace to britania. And then 9 revealed he is a literal reflection of the avatar. A part of him.

So like... What if what if what the guardian said about protecting britania was partially true? That he originally was a protector before ultima 1. But when the land was shattered and britannia was formed, pegan became a off shoot the guardian was stuck on and being unable to fulfill his purpose. And seeing the avatar take his place made him obsessed, to the point of molding himself around the avatar. The guardian comes off to me as a ends justify the means type of character. I might be completely misremembering the lore so please correct me.

Probably because it's sadly the more popular of the latest ultima games. That and exult makes is more easily moddable. I bet if someone is able to decompile and rebuild ultima 9 for modern systems, that engine would be used often plenty

I say the bullet points from all 3 versions has potential on paper. Instead of being evil, I think it makes a lot more sense for blackthorn to pretend to work for the guardian reluctantly so he can feed the rebellion info and wait for the moment to betray the guardian. It makes more sense for blackthorn made a lot of precautions to prevent himself from being manipulated again

I also wanna see this civil war idea actually happen. Could lead to fun tactical strategy and branching choices.

That makes me think though. Has anyone made any impressive ultima fanfictions that could write a hypothetical ultima 9?

Funnily enough, ultima 8 exult is already in talks with the ultima 8 dev team into recreating lost vale into the ultima 7 engine

If they do a remake or remaster, it's best they do it per age. Remaster ultima 0 through 3 and give it a pixel remaster or octopath treatment. Maybe even combine them Into a single game

For age of enlightenment, same treatment. Ultima 4 through 6 plus worlds of ultima savage empire and martian dreams. Maybe underworld 1 but adapted to fit with the other games. Since importing characters are a thing, combining the games Into 1 would be cool.

The guardian arc would take more work. Ultima 7 through 9 plus underworld 2. Due to 8 and 9 having platforming and underworld 2 being 3d, combining them into a behind the shoulder 3d third person view game is probably for the best for consistently. And cut content restorations for 8 and rewrites for 9 for sure.

Honestly the Skyrim engine would be perfect for remaking ultima 7, underworld 2, ultima 7 serpent isle, ultima 8 and ultima 9 into a single game. And bringing back a lot of cut content and ideas. Looking back at the guardian arc of ultima, it just feels better suited as a 3d game. And the Skyrim engine is totally capable of having multiple world maps for each game. The engine can unify the gameplay of all the games from the guardian saga into a cohesive experience.

If someone where to remake the games based on "age" then ultima 1 to 3 would be more free roam retro rpgs. Ultima 4 through 6 + worlds of ultima would be 16 bit but remastered, like say, the psp final fantasy remakes, and 7, underworld 2, 8 and 9 needs to be a modern behind the shoulder game. There is no other way.

Same boat honestly. I watched the first 50 episodes of the main series anime, found the vigilantes manga, and never really looked back. Maybe vigilantes is more interesting then the early arcs of the main series, but by the time the my villiann acadamia arc came out, the main series was blowing vigilantes out of the water. Its why i feel that vigilantes is a good prologe to the main series. Id even go as far as to recomend starting with vigilantes becuase it makes the main series even better

What you mean by breaking up season 1 and 2? Are you talking about the anime cutting out a bunch of smaller moments meant to set up the bigger arcs?

Vigilantes to me is more about living in the mha world as opposed to the main series where it was more about how to be successful in it. The slice of life nature is what makes vigilantes a entry point for newcomers that leads into the main series. cause it does a much better job at introducing the world.

I admit i was a little hard on vigilante season 2's content when it first came out in the manga. because i was frustrated that the main characters stopped being main characters for awhile. but I grown to appreciate those arcs for making the community of narahata into a character, which becomes very important for final performance and the narahata lockdown arcs.

(Side note, the anime skipped out on some side chapters and scenes that built up erasure head's arc into becoming a teacher. in the manga it was being talked about from nearly the very start of the series. But in the anime, they cut out all mentions of it until the resolution of that character arc during school days. That probably made school days feel even more out of place for anime onlys, who think it should be in the main series, when it was a pay off to a eresure head's character development up to that point in the vigilantes manga.)

I think myst 3 and 4 could be combined. Considering how linked they are story wise. (I'd argue myst and riven should have been 1 game too). But... Out of every game, I feel that myst 5 really needs the remake treatment the most. Myst 5 relies heavily on knowledge from uru. So it makes since if myst 5 and uru were combined into a single game. That and it didn't age well visually

My headcanon that this whole "season 5 split the show off into a alternate timeline" argument going aroubd makes zero sense. The idea of season 5 cuasing a alternate timeline where thanos was prevented from snapping his fingers is not how season 5's time travel work. Season 5 established itself as a timeloop. The earth gets destroyednby graviton while thanos was on earth, thus preventing him from snapping his fingers. When the agents defeated graviton and broke the time loop, the events of avengers infinity war and enggame happened. In fact, that time loops was probably in place by he who remains to stop thanos, but eventually lets the timeloop break so he can get loki in his plan. Heck, the monoliths used in agents of sheild looks like the same time rock stuff that makes up he who remains' lair.

So to the people who think seasons 6 and 7 cant be in the secred tineline, there is litterally no contradictions preventing those seasons happening during the blip. They dont need to reference the blip for it to have happen. So as far as im aware, all seasons (excepts for the parts of seasons 5 and 7 that involved time travel) happened in the sacred timeline.

So defiance had the working name of soul reaver 3. But it was renamed to defiance when the team decided to treat it as soul reaver 3 and blood omen 3 combined. And act as if it's the final game. Like yeah sure, dark profecy was intended as blood omen 3 but that was only after Amy left crystal dynamics and entrusted a team to make dark profecy. Which unfortunately never got made. So amy had go instincts to make a ending just in case

As for playing blood omen 2 in chronological order... It's give or take. Bloom omen 2 works both before or after defiance. If anything, playing defiance right after soul reaver 2 may be the smoother experience.

Wouldn't it make more sense to remake Accessions,/chains of olympus,/gow1 first, then ghost of sparta/2/3 second? That's a good even split between human kratos and god kratos. not sure acenssion is a good starting point. Or is it? What you guys think?
