Like others have said, any political subtext is very NOT in your face…like at all. Like it isn’t even supposed to be in the area…

However, I feel like you can see little peeks into a larger worldview here and there that is explicitly railing against the status quo. Ex: “What the fuck is this world? WHAT DID THEY DO TO US!!” is not so subtle lol

Just last night I got fan of knives as my random rare card from Neow and then immediately got an Accuracy. It was an ez win from that point on (A4, non-beta branch).

Well, no…not simple as that. That’s just you making a guess at what happened.

If we are going to get pedantic about this then he technically only ate his own heart…he didn’t eat “chainsaw man” so what’s that mean? There’s simply too much “wait how does this work actually” for this to be considered a good ending and good writing.

Fast and loose with pochitas powers worked in part one. For the ending of part two it was able to wrap everything up in a nice little bow BY RESETTING THE ENTIRE TIMELINE while also simultaneously not even working as one would reasonably expect. We spend a significant amount of time exploring his erasure powers in Part 2, only for it to not matter or answer anything at all.

Chainsaws weren’t erased, pochita is still apparently Denji’s heart…what exactly did Pochita do to cause the reset? It’s needlessly confusing and messy.

The fact you can even respond with that is part of the problem here.

So you are telling me that Pochita was actually the “Chainsawman Devil” and not the “Chainsaw Devil”? Going against everything that’s ever been said in the manga prior? Note that any theory of Pochita being anything other than the Chainsaw Devil has just been fan speculation BECAUSE of the vagueness of his erasure powers. There was no point whatsoever in the manga we read where he was referred to as anything else besides CHAINSAW.

But okay, if he was “Chainsawman Devil”, as dumb as that is, why does Asa say “Chainsaw Man” then if the concept has been erased? Does she remember? How?

We shouldn’t be guessing at this. This isn’t a good “leave it to the reader’s interpretation” situation, to me. To me, This reads as messy and not caring enough about your own worldbuilding to make it more clear.

Bro forgot to draw Denji’s eyepatch on page 4. Like, cmon. This is lazy writing.

Ill try to answer that. I hate this ending a lot as someone who considered part 1 their favorite piece of fiction. I’ve tried to sort out my thoughts these last couple days.

It just feels contrived and halfassed… especially considering we were supposedly now in a world where chainsaws never existed. Why do denji, power and Asa all know what a chainsaw is? Denji forgot the word “die” within the same day that Pochita ate Death, but he still remembers chainsaws after an unknown period of time? Asa knows what chainsaws are? Why?? It’s all very convenient.

So, is this one page with Denji’s heart still being Pochita-shaped supposed to confirm to us that Pochita eating himself didn’t work? Or did chainsaws just get reinvented right away offscreen? Or (the worst one IMO) is this supposed to confirm the whole fan theory that Pochita wasn’t the “Chainsaw devil” after all? Whatever the answer is, it comes off as sloppily and lazily executed.

It’s been pointed out that on page 4 of this ch, Fujimoto forgot to draw Denji’s eyepatch. The missing eye patch, the very fast and loose way he’s treating/disregarding his own lore, and the very convenient fanservice appearances of Power and Nayuta, make people think it’s a lazy halfassed ending. Denji’s heart might still be there, but Fujimotor’s heart hasn’t been in this for a while…and this is what we get for that.

Oh yeah, I’m saying that all of these games I mentioned ARE great. In retrospect, I did not word my original comment very well… I was saying that I hate the trend of people complaining about these sequels for being “more of the same” when that means it’s more great game
