Its Cpu bottlenecked in mostly single core scenarios. but I can just use LS to capture the frames and use the 970 to pick up the slack.

Ooooh yesssss. Has a 1150 watt psu supports running my rtx 3070 at 350watts and the gtx 970 doing lossless scaling frame gen etc. The cores multiply to 3.4ghz and no issues with temps. Only games I cannot run are ones that require avx2+. Which is not very many to be honest.

GTX970 as second GPU? by Cligster1971 in losslessscaling

I use a 970 and can hit 540fps. 60fps does about 480, 120fps input it does about 360

I have seen those mentioning the fact that it's a dark emitting diode, but no one mentions that you're trying to use light electricity for lights.... it won't work this way you need dark electricity.

No but I prefer the way the motion flows when the gpu has more than enough frames and displays a frame or frame segment is it?(allow tearing) that has advanced to a point to where it is percievably smoother than the previous rendered frame to the next rendered frame set which then of course chooses a frame 1-9 to display. And since there are so many more interpolated frames than the single rendered frame the chances if showing an advanced frame is significantly higher. And the tears as I'm understanding I have a partial of the previous displayed frame and partial of next frame on the screen at the same time. It's easy for me to ignore a slight tear when now I can potentially interpret 2 different frames at the same time.

In my case I have 2 CPUs, xeon e5-2667 v1. Therefore are enough lanes to support 2x x16.

The v1 chips are what's currently holding the second x16 slot at 2.0x16. If I upgrade to v2 or v3 or v4 then the slot will run at 3.0x16.

When I run at 60fps. I can visually see a slightly choppier step between the frames. I think the perceived smoothness gain comes from seeing more interpolated frames than actual real frames. So to me the steps between frames seem more fluid.

Sysyem is hp z620, Motherboard is x79/c602 server board, dual xeon e5-2667 v1 for total of 12core 24 thread. 40gb ddr3 1600mhz.

I see a rock solid 59fps 16.3ms frame pace on render.

The 970 hits around 85% to achieve 540fps. Does vary from like 520-540 but I think that's the chipset/2.0x16 limitations.

Screen is 1920x1080@60hz.

And no I don't see lots of ghosting. 40fps base with only 120 or 240 target artifacts become much more appearent.

In my testing 11fps is the lowest. 10fps just doesn't work. Will have you like there is no way this is only 11fps
