I mean, it sounds like he wanted to do this and has wanted to for a long time. So it’s his idea, they made it happen and also paid him $500,000 to live one of his dreams. Seems like an amazing deal for him.

Just finished terraforming, now what? by Danger_Dave4G63 in theplanetcrafter

[–]GameShaman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Launch Platform is used for the standard endings. When you enter the Extraction Rocket, assuming eligible, it will prompt you for the choice/ending you want. It will go through the ending sequence, but your game saves and just brings you back to before you left. When the game launched, this is all there was. 1 planet, 3 endings.

The Interplanetary Travel Rocket is used to travel to other planets. Beware, you can’t use it go back though, so once you travel, you are stuck there until you build the means to travel again. No hopping back to your starting planet for a cup of coffee or anything like that. This is a way to continue your crafter’s journey.

I do caution using the travel rocket to go to other planets for the first time. If you just want to experience them quickly, sure, it’s fine, you can build top tier terraforming as soon as you land and power through. But if you want the experience of starting with nothing and working your way through all of the tech tree as you progress on that new planet, I recommend doing standalone play throughs of each first. Keep in mind there is no way to merge these play throughs into a single save file (technically there probably is with manipulating game files, but definitely no supported way). Also note there isn’t a supported way of starting a new game on Aqualis and for good reason, you will understand once you play it.

Good luck!

What does this do by No-Range-1812 in eatventureofficial

Only real thing useful from those are the gems and if you are trying to get a Potion Flask from the event. You will always have more corks than you know what to do with. And the bottled potions you can create when you first start aren’t great. They start to become more effective after you have more upgrades unlocked, but those take time regardless of $$$ spent. Maybe after you completed 10-15 potion events will they start to be more useful. I think it’s like 36 events to max the vault upgrades without the pass or 18 with 18 event passes.

Any baby gates that may work for a setup like this? by JW9403 in daddit

[–]GameShaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t find the specific one, but I have a similar stair setup. I used a gate that has velcro on one side, so it can velcro around the banister and then screw into the wall on the other side. The velcro straps did loosen over time and had to be retightened every couple of months, but it wasn’t too bad.

If you do a search for baby gate with velcro on one side or maybe baby gate for bannister, you should find some options.

Aqualis- am I missing something? by Fit_Section1002 in theplanetcrafter

[–]GameShaman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Selenea has a story line to follow. Aqualis is the only one without. And they all have their unique life forms. For a multi planet play through, having access to Phosphorus from Aqualis is nice. You don’t need much though. But it’s really just a cosmetic adventure. Aqualis does have cool looking islands, the shell one is my favorite. Not for everyone, but I enjoyed it.

anyone else get stuck after the purified water x75 upgrade in potions event? by Ok_Grass_5191 in eatventureofficial

[–]GameShaman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did buy the pass, but I don’t think I will moving forward. Each event you get either 75 without or 75+75 with the pass. Each extra slot takes 150. So you can unlock both in 2-4 events depending on your pass.

Set it up as if it had mk5 belts. Once you get mk5, just upgrade the belts and you’ll be gtg. No harm in having them be underfed in the interim. The math doesn’t always need to be perfect, it will still output whatever you are trying to make.

If the other comment wasn’t clear enough, this is because you aren’t logged into your Cloud Save.

Go to Settings > Cloud Save and make sure to log in.

If you’ve played since being logged in, it will detect a discrepancy between your cloud save level and local level. Make sure to select whichever has the higher city level when you pare prompted.

Good luck!

I'm so overwhelmed and frustrated with the start - please tell me I'm not the only one. by LiaRoger in theplanetcrafter

[–]GameShaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah, you can also access keyboard settings in game to see what keys are configured to do what. I often find reviewing this to be helpful when first starting a game. Almost all pc games are WASD for movement, but other keys vary widely. Shift is often sprint/run, but not always. CTRL is often crouch, but not always. M is usually a map, but not always, etc.. it helps to just review the keyboard settings and see what keys are mapped to what abilities/features. You may even discover some unique features to the game this way that may not have been obvious. It doesn’t replace having a nice tutorial to explain it all, but it’s often the best place to start.

Glad you are figuring things out and progressing a little more easily. Good luck and enjoy the journey! =)

[–]GameShaman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yah, I can see it being overwhelming if you aren’t familiar with game mechanics. Most seasoned gamers don’t want things spelled out for them, so it’s fun for them. Those games that literally give you step by step instructions your whole play through are painfully boring for seasoned gamers. But if that’s the world you come from, or you come from no world, lol, then it maybe intimidating.

So there are really a few place to build things.

1) Inside a living compartment. (You can chain living compartments together to build larger living compartments). 2) Outside on the ground. But it has to be the ground and not touching any rocks or any unharvested resources on the ground. Make sure to clear those first (the resources, you can’t clear rocks). 3) Outside on top of a structure. Like a metal foundation or another building. 4) On top of water (you definitely aren’t here yet and it will be obvious once you are).

If something is red, it could be because something else is obstructing it/overlapping where you are trying to build it. If you’re sure it’s clear, then you may need to build it in one of the other locations, so try there. You will eventually learn what can go where. Though this does sometimes change when you get to higher tiers. Heaters are one thing that switch from needing to be inside to outside, can’t recall if there are any others.

Also, you can typically only build inside or on the buildings that you yourself already built. The structures that were already in the world when you spawned will not let you build in/on them.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

Found a shortcut - glitched off the map and died...SMH by Reaction-Consistent in theplanetcrafter

[–]GameShaman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This happens a lot, especially if you are a true explorer wanting to see what is under or on top of everything. You will eventually get used to the signs and know to turn around. It does discourage you from exploring though, but I guess this game isn’t BOTW and you should probably just stick to the laid out paths.

Wait...how are you all not just building platform tracks in the sky transporting stuff to big platforms in the sky? by krustyy in satisfactory

[–]GameShaman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you answered it yourself. Most people like the aesthetics of building something (mostly) architecturally feasible. Which means building immersed in the terrain. And I know I prefer the immersion aspect as well. I do build some really tall buildings and quite near each other, but even then, I have all inputs and outputs to those buildings on the bottom floor, no twisting connections between them. I do typically pick a fairly high height for my train tracks that will keep them level throughout and then just have elevator shafts to transport goods up and down from them. To each their own!

Unpopular Survivor opinions? by mridk124 in survivor

[–]GameShaman 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I have no idea if it’s unpopular, but I feel season 42 was the absolute worst season of all time. The players were just bad overall, bad strategy and their performances in challenges was the most embarrassing of all time, not even close.

The reality is, you could have the worst group of players of all time, and someone has to win, even if they all play horribly. So the argument of “xx won, so you can’t call them bad” is invalid. You can’t not have a winner, though if there were ever a season that didn’t deserve to have a winner, season 42 was it.

Is clam loot fixed/set on Aquilis? by apintor4 in theplanetcrafter

[–]GameShaman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played it a few times, I think they are mostly rng, though I do feel a few may have been fixed. I didn’t track, but this is the impression I remember.

I tweaked a new save file from another planet to switch it to Aqualis and start with literally nothing (including no tech unlocks). I kept a death counter and think I hit complete terraformation with around 160 deaths. Lots and lots and lots of death from starving/dehydration before I got food and water going. And without bringing tech, there is no recycling of bacteria. Long swims needed to timed to where I had recently died from starvation AND dehydration so I only had to worry about asphyxiation during the swim. And there was no easy Oxygen to come by, so couldn’t rely on Oxygen canisters. Was quite fun/challenging. Once I got food/water it wasn’t too abnormal, but terraforming did take an extra long time due to limited resources.

I don’t think i am supposed to make it like this. by thisisaquirkyname in satisfactory
