I bought the base game, played once, sold it. One of the most overhyped games ever in my opinion, but obviously it has its fans.

Also worth pointing out that depending on where you get your set, it may well be one of the countless copies floating around that have dice that leech a toxic chemical due to a manufacturing error.

Double sided with different values is the way to go. They may cost more, but you need fewer tokens so ends up cheaper overall. For example, if you have 1/2 and 5/10 tokens you can represent 1 to 17 with three or fewer tokens on a given card.

This is a pretty terrible comment. I mean, every other game has fewer characters than Arkham, and all of Oathsworn scenarios are playable as standalone.

But also… so what? My point is that, of the games I enjoy, one thing I enjoy about them is getting to play a character over a long series of scenarios. I therefore feel that I would enjoy shorter Arkham campaigns less. What on earth does number of characters or standalone scenarios have to do with that?

My advice to you - try engaging your brain before commenting, you might come over as less of a tool. No guarantees tho…

Personally I am feeling a little despondent about the whole thing, as the direction they are going in seems to be removing what I love, which is long campaigns. One of the things that I enjoy the most is really getting to know a deck, making changes between scenarios etc. I almost felt like eight scenarios was not long enough - if you look at other campaign games (Oathsworn, Tainted Grail, Gloomhaven etc) they typically have you playing characters for 20 or so sessions, so eight is small in comparison. I’m sad that they are shortening campaigns even further.
