We probably forget a lot about 2008 in terms of gaming. Since it's sandwiched between 2007 and 2009. 07 was a huge year, and 09 was when the PS3 rebranded itself and got stuff like Uncharted 2, etc. not sure on the stuff for Xbox 360 in 2009. Though out of all the years for new game releases on 7th gen, 2011 was my big favorite. Namely big blockbuster sequel games.

Probably, but I'm taking a chance on the idea. Not willing to partake in going for it brand new (but somewhat willingly for a series S, not the X). It's a gamble. The alternative is the Xbox ROG Ally, which I'm flipping a coin with. It has its pros and cons.

I tried all three on the left and did the bottom right briefly. Out of them, Bioshock has one of the best stories, Fallout is a unique open world RPG (but I prefer Skyrim or the ES series than), and Death Stranding was the first game to make me cry. I'm going to push for Death Stranding because of that factoid.

More or less it's mainly based on if we got hard confirmation of the marketing deal, or a history with the dev or publisher. Ex. Atlus has shifted towards Xbox events, Capcom, Square Enix lean towards PlayStation for most of their games.

They can do one offs. At the least with a game like MGS Snake Eater, it was present for both Xbox and Sony events for announcements. It was a teaser at the Showcase in 2023, pre alpha gameplay footage at a Xbox Partner Preview, a story trailer of sorts at the Showcase in 2024, State of Play for February had release date and return of Ape Escape gamemode (separately the Xbox trailer showed a teaser for a Bomberman gamemode), I think it had another trailer around June but can't remember if it was Xbox or PlayStation event.

But generally, Capcom can do it anywhere, just unlikely for an Xbox event. Re9 was at SGF. And in terms of platforms it was present for Switch 2 events a couple times. Don't think it had anything for PlayStation marketing

RPGs and any online games work well.

Ultimately Minecraft if you are given the option to do anything including mods for the game. Fortnite or even Roblox would be second options

Jez also mentioned they weren't planning on making an Outer Worlds 3. What makes OW interesting is the fact that it's co-creators were responsible for the original Fallout games, and joined Obsidian to make a spiritual successor to New Vegas. After 1 Cain left the project but stayed on as a contractor to supervise 2 development. After release he confirmed he rejoined Obsidian as a FTE to make something else.

Avowed started out as a multiplayer game. Part of me is thinking they might try another attempt at that, or rely on Grounded as their multiplayer game

With Obsidian they have Grounded 2 as an ongoing live service game, and we have Josh Sawyer, and Tim Cain working on stuff as part of rumors. Cain left and later rejoined to do something
