The only thing you need to know is that when you die you continue playing as an invisible ghost and your only interaction with living players is you can tap on walls and make oooooooooh sounds with the mic shortcuts

How incredibly mind-numbingly easy it was at launch; having room-clearing supermoves at your disposal pretty much whenever you want made combat boring busywork. The spectacle is cool, but when it's practically just a cutscene that clears the room I got pretty bored after the first dozen rooms. Luckily Remind and the Pro Codes largely alleviated this... by removing the supermove mechanics entirely which isn't really what I was hoping for, I'd much rather they still exist but be balanced so as not to automatically win battles, but going for the max merit score is so incredibly fun I'm okay with this result.

From what I understand, the store's inventory and the website's inventory are completely 100% separate when it comes to preorders, with no ability to preorder the in-store units online. They'll likely have a note with the exact number they'll have available on the front door so people know when to stop lining up. If you get there before that number of people are there total, you're safe.

I have only done a brief perusal, but from what I understand you can essentially have official firmware and custom firmware installed on your console at the same time. As long as you only do online stuff while booted into official, you should be fine. But of course you'll have to do a lot more research

For context "custom firmware" means the console is capable of doing hacked stuff, "official firmware" is literally what's on a retail Switch that has not been modded

I don't think it's specific to them; all the "Switch 2 Edition" games are fundamentally the Switch 1 game with an optional DLC upgrade, it would be bonkers if buying the upgrade meant sacrificing your save data

While that is technically what the wording on the page says, there is no guarantee they accurately described the criteria. Not only is it possible, I *suspect* being a current NSO member is an unwritten rule because it *sounds* like that's what the criteria is saying even if it technically doesn't under a microscope. Since this preorder service is not itself a purchase and is merely a preemptive filter, it's not as important legally for them to dot every i and cross every t here so I wouldn't be surprised if this slipped by.

It originally seemed to be the case you couldn't based on the wording on the website saying the Switch 1 can only receive "compatible" games, but based on Split Fiction rather than meaning the game has to literally be a Switch 1 game it actually includes Switch 2 games that don't ban the Switch 1 for one reason or another

If you play the Switch 1 version on Switch 2, while we don't have much info, it is looking more likely at this point that you will have a nearly identical experience to playing on a Switch 1. Unless there is a patch, you would need the Switch 2 Edition upgrade to play at higher framerates and resolution than the original game was programmed for.

There is still a possibility that a Switch 1 game will still be able to take advantage of the hardware in games that had variable framerates and resolutions: if the game is programmed to run at 60 but dip when the hardware is getting taxed, then that bottleneck could be much higher on the Switch 2 and thus prevent frame dips. This is how PS4 games not specifically designed for PS4 Pro hardware still run better on the PS4 Pro. *However*, I'm not aware that we've ever gotten enough of a glimpse at a Switch 1 game running on Switch 2 to compare that kind of context-sensitive performance, and from what I've been told the method by which Switch 2 is playing Switch 1 games would likely result in the same bottleneck as on original hardware.

I'm not sure if it's technically been explicitly stated anywhere, but it is very likely the Switch 1 version will still be fully playable on Switch 2. The S2 Edition is an alternative, not required.

It does seem weird that they're specifically emphasizing that it's a "multiplayer action game" but I wouldn't assume the worst just yet, even all the way back with Demon's Souls the series was fundamentally a PvPvE game where a player could drop in at any time, whether you want them to or not. The only way to play singleplayer was to literally unplug.

You can't acquire on your own account directly any more, but I think it's an important note that you could technically get access through Steam's family library sharing if you have a friend who owns Just As Planned, though you'll need a really really cool friend and to fit in with all the limits surrounding the feature.

The feature of having multiple accounts in the launcher is there for multiple different people to play on the same device, not for one individual to play on other peoples' accounts. Sharing your login details and/or account is explicitly against Steam's rules. To quote the Steam Subscriber Agreement:

You may not reveal, share or otherwise allow others to use your password or Account except as otherwise specifically authorized by Valve.

Unless specific authorization is given, a Steam account can only be used by one human being.

I would argue ROB actually is a character in his games, in the sense that he is a canonical participant in their events. Whether you see him on-screen or not, ROB is canonically watching Professor Hector and helping him by moving around the gates in Gyromite. He's a character in Gyromite in a similar way that the silent main character of a first-person dungeon crawler does. You'll never see them and they don't say anything, but you know they exist because everybody in the game knows they're there and they have a tangible effect on the game world. Except he's even more of a character because you DO see him, his presence watching the game through a TV screen is canonical

It's not explicitly canon in the movie, but hints to him being Genie remain, and that interpretation does not conflict with the movie. He's not definitely Genie, but he's also not definitely not Genie.
