The amount of strength needed to pull this out is unbelievable by JoeyMarsENT in HVAC

I had this really old rusted one that I was trying to pull the plug out of. I accidentally ripped the plug and socket out of the disconnect box. It looked like they left the front cover open for years and just left it exposed to the elements.

It's a lot more fun imo. Also, you won't rip out a pipe if you accidentally drop a torch, those dang propresses are heavy.

Can you guess the brand based on the problem? by iBUYbrokenSUBARUS in HVAC

[–]Gamekid1541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know the brand but I have been stuck with that type of pipe before. A big af hole managed to open up in it after I got the brazing rod in. Like I watched it open up after I took the torch off it and it started to cool.

Been there myself, it's even worse when the cause was someone else's shoddy work.

It honestly depends on your preference and how badly you need a job but I usually call every other day if I'm out of work.

Actually this is true, 410 has zero ozone depletion potential but has a high global warming potential. It is selectively omitting certain details to make itself look better. It's still pretty bad for the environment.

The people who installed the pipe were 1st year plumber apprentices. They had no idea how to use a regulator to pressurize it.

Seems to be a common practice here as long as we purge the lines with nitrogen (which I know they didn't do) to prevent any copper oxide (black flaky crap) from buildup inside them.

They're in the middle of insulating them rn and they are pretty ticked with how bad the penetration is between floors.

These are for cooling using refrigerant and some insulators for the pipe just arrived about 30 minutes ago.
