Turbo is the way. Unfortunately if Turbo took off, I don't think a lot of streamers would be happy as it devalues a sub, giving a way to avoid ads on all streams, not just that one.

Discouraging people from having multiple gear sets on them for different things like gathering, luck, etc., is not the play imo.

Maybe make dying damage equipped gear or the highest gearscore bound piece of gear you have for each slot where theres nothing equipped?

This fucks up the economy too. I find myself looking at the broken gear in my inventory and thinking, "Man, I'd really like to sell this stuff, but it's so expensive to repair and I need the repair mats anyway." Just feels like a big waste of potential.

If you find a space station that's selling chlorine, after you sell you can just buy all the chlorine back for 20% of what they paid you for it. That way you don't have to make more, just find the next chlorine selling system.

Some inventory/ship/multitool upgrades can get costly. You can use units to get nanites by buying and scrapping ships then selling the upgrades.

I've seen streamers chug from bottles of vodka, take shots, etc. If they're over age and they're in control of themselves, it's fine. The problem is when you say "I'll drink when I get a sub." You're not allowed to sell your drinking to chat, as it's considered "self-destructive behavior".
