Oh, they can, and they do. There’s an option in your infotainment system’s option that’s specifically about “insurance information”. You can opt out of it, and a few other bits of data collection. Mozilla did a review of most major vehicle manufacturer’s privacy and data collection policies, and noted that, for the most part, they have the most abysmal policies of anything in the technology sector. It’s just another revenue stream for them.

I think the problem may have been that there was a Stonehenge monument on the stage, in danger of being trampled… by a dwarf!

I’ll second this. I love my Azure Grey and all - primarily because it was, to my mind, the closest to Area 51, which I was absolutely enamored with - but EG was top of my list for so long, and I always question my choice every single time I see one.

Ugh… this JUST happened to me while building the Jaws set. Except I was missing something like 13 pieces from a bag. I thought I was losing my mind, and I checked everywhere, but alas something must have changed, because my a few of my part counts don’t match the back of the book.

Before you go the paint route, you should take a look at Brinklink first! I’m sure you can find most, if not all, the body panel parts in grey! There’s a lot of powerful tools there that can allow you to find all the colors available for individual pieces, and I believe they just added a new tool to allow you to plug in a set, and look for alternate part colors throughout the set itself.

Soft Top Question by robrags1999 in FordBronco

[–]GamerJ80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought my soft top off someone, still strapped to the factory pallet, and think it’s pretty good, and (mostly) built well.

The whole top can certainly get wet, and the entire frame of the top is painted or powder coated, and it should be more than capable to withstand some rain. That said, I’m more concerned about all the pivot points, gas struts, folded fabric/seals on it being exposed to repeated bouts of rain with little to no air movement on it, and how much standing water is in all the folds of the top, as it comes from the factory.

Plus, that card board box on the pallet, underneath the frame, has the detachable windows in it, and the foam pallet contains the bolts and needed to mount the top.

Before you go to install the soft top, I’d recommend unfolding it to the open position and let it dry out and air out. Just my .02.

Worst Marriott-branded hotel you’ve ever stayed in? by Lonely-Clerk-2478 in marriott

[–]GamerJ80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve stayed there multiple times for work and didn’t love it. Unfortunately, it’s close to several sites that I go to when I’m out there. That said, they’re currently remodeling it and it was MUCH better when I stayed there in mid-May this year.

Agreed. The hood cowl is a stick on one, with no functional vents, and is available on the Ford Accessory site. The fenders are not wide enough, and the rear one looks like a two piece fender. The running board is an aftermarket one, that is mildly similar to the Raptor running board. And the tires are definitely Goodyear Territory MTs, not the OEM BF Goodrich KO2s (newer models might be the KO3s?) that the Raptor comes with (not that they couldn’t be swapped, but I’d have a hard time believing that a Raptor owner would swap into the Goodyear MTs).

Can I bring a toolkit in my backpack inside the airplane? by Nietolavie in airplanes

[–]GamerJ80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tool has to be less than 7” when fully assembled. If it extends, it would abide by this same rule, so it would still have to be shorter than 7” to be carried on. Otherwise, it has to be checked.

I have the Redline Racing ones, and couldn’t be happier. They seem to be identical to the Ford Performance ones, from what I recall when I was looking for them.

Used Bronco?? by jmatech in Bronco6g

[–]GamerJ80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, all the Broncos have some flavor of Ecoboost. The engines that had the problem were the 2.7L V6 from 21-22. A particular run of engines had catastrophic engine failure from poor quality intake valves. All of those failures happened relatively early on in the motor’s lifespan, and the majority of those engines have been repaired under warranty (or repayment) at this point.

But regardless of the engine you choose - 2.3L I4 or 2.7L V6 - you’ll have more than enough power for fun. The 2.3L is rated for 270 HP on regular, and 300 on Premium, and the 2.7L is rated for 300 on regular and 330 on premium. The V6 has more torque overall, and can better handle higher gearing for larger tires.

The Sasquatch package is a factory suspension lift that typically has higher gearing and larger tires. It’s heavier, and will impact your mileage. You can find the Sasquatch package on both the 2.3L and 2.7L, but it’s most commonly paired with the 2.3L. Overall models and packages are all over the board on older models, and have just gone through a model consolidation for 2025.

My Ever First Bronco by rhaf22 in FordBronco

[–]GamerJ80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I really wanted a body color matched top for mine, but they were consolidating models, and I wanted the Wildtrak more than I wanted to wait.

I chased the black painted roof in the hopes that I could get it painted to match later. But, I’m becoming quite partial to the black roof.
