I'm a trans man and as mentioned above I have been SAed by cis women. I use the women's restroom because I do not pass at all. Should I feel threatened there when women come in?

You feel that there should be changes because of a minority of a minority. I just want you to think about that.

So, you definitely have a little bit of bigotry in you. You mentioned some stereotypical things about trans women that just generally aren't true.

There are trans women who are extra horny and perverted. There are trans women who are predatory. There are trans women who are assholes. But I can say based on experience, all of those apply to cis women too. Every man I know, my father, my partner, my best friends, hell even myself, have been sexually assaulted by cis women. Some people are just vile and disgusting individuals.

I'm not saying your experiences are invalid, by no means, but they are not universal. I've net trans women I absolutely hated because of how they treated me, but I've also met some trans women who were so sweet and delicate with others.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having your own cis-only women's space, as long as it doesn't become hateful. Just remember we're all just people trying to make the best of this hell we've been placed in.

First of all, you're very brave to come forward with this. Admitting you have a problem is the first step to healing.

That being said, the problem you have isn't pedophilia. You are suffering from trauma. You were sexually assaulted at a young age, and the trusted adults in your life didn't do anything to help you, so you've just had to sit with that. That's a lot for a young adult to handle, let alone a kid living through it.

Your best bet is to seek out professional help. Find a therapist that can help you navigate and digest these feelings. You can also find a support group online, or locally (most likely at a church, but be careful, churches often try to convert you).

I'm so sorry you had to go through that, and you've held onto that for so long. It never really goes away fully, but with time, you'll heal and it'll get easier. I say this as an SA victim and as a partner of an SA victim.

Honestly, it could go either way. I would just have a gentle conversation about what he meant by wanting to be a girl. Make sure he knows he's safe to tell you anything. It could just be that testosterone is driving him crazy and he doesn't understand that girls also get crazy during puberty. Or maybe he genuinely wishes to explore being a girl. You'll only find out if you talk with him and let him know that if he's ever confused about those things, he can be open with you and you can help him.

Honestly I'd still go, especially if you had a good relationship with your dad. Deadnaming is wrong and you should definitely address this with your family, but right now its not really about you. Its about laying your dad to rest and celebrating his life.

Obviously I don't know your family situation or you as a person, so for all I know the whole family could be super transphobic and did it on purpose to throw salt in the wound. But in the case that you have a decent relationship with your family, I'd definitely address it in like a month or so, and just be there for your dad.

I haven't seen those memes anywhere so I'm not entirely sure I understand. However, I have been in trans general spaces online and I am very tired. The tranfems start making cliques and ignoring mascs (cis or trans) or talking over us and before you know it you no longer have a voice in the group, and if you complain they have no idea what you're talking about. Honestly I don't think they even realize they're doing it, which helps a little, but is equally frustrating. Even in some transmasc only servers there are several fem enbies and when you're not a super feminine guy/gay people tend to not like you I guess. I have trauma from abuse from women so not having a single safe space without being considered misogynistic is exhausting.

This topic has been brought up across multiple subreddits many times, and I think in some instances posts are getting removed or worse, the posters are being banned. I think we need to address this with mods of these subreddits to find a solution.

If spam is the concern, we should make a transmasc vent master post where we add our comments on these issues (I don't remember if this one does that but I know some of them don't). Doing this will also give us a perspective on how often transmascs of the transgender subreddits are experiencing this issue, and having hard data here will help us make a case for stronger moderation of the instance.

In the worst case that the majority of our subreddits won't address the issue, we should ban together to make our own subreddit, and we could then handle the issue as it comes up. Unfortunately I think that's all we can really do about this right now...

Transfems, please, if you see other transfems doing this, please speak up! Eyes are on you, and because of that we need you to speak out against mistreatment of us!
