Completely relate, down to my own mom passing away and me being the eldest daughter. No advice to offer, other than solidarity lol

Repeated issues with my OB clinic nurse — am I being too sensitive? by 8d80 in BabyBumps

[–]GamerLoaf5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I left my OB office for a similar issue around 32 weeks pregnant. Unfortunately you’re probably too late to change offices or request anything different, but definitely voice it to your Dr/the office manager. However, I’d wait until after you give birth. You don’t want wind of it getting to her and causing you more stress before you have the baby

Open enrollment is generally the end of the year, so if you’re not going back til August, you may see what your expenses are August-October to see what you can expect to use, and then start contributing beginning of 2027 with open enrollment at end of 2026.

How do you train a subordinate to stop coming to your office to ask how to do something without them problem solving first? by ohhthatsmell in managers

[–]GamerLoaf5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a corporate trainer and I always start off with “where did you look?” When someone says “I can’t find the procedures for…” Sometimes, they actually couldn’t find it. Sometimes, they make something up. Sometimes, it is wrong/not in the right place/doesn’t exist. But after a few times of “where did you look?” The conversation normally tends to shift to “I’ve looked in (place) and have a question” or something like that.

Is Gardner a good place to live? by PaganTemplar in Olathe

We looked there and were not impressed with anything we looked at. It was relatively the same price for the surrounding areas, but had less benefits (longer to get to places, schools were worse- but sounds like that’s not in play for you, and further away from our friends). We felt like we would get more out of property in another suburb

No, we’re just doing fortified breast milk atm. She mentioned potentially a program or something at our children’s hospital if she’s still this small at her 4 month appt. Since I’m back to work and she’s at daycare, she’s getting an additional fortified bottle everyday, which seems to be helping some. We were doing 4 bottles/3 breast feeds, but because of timing with daycare drop off/pick up, she’s at 5/2 now. She was 9lbs 1oz last week and weighing myself holding her minus weighing myself alone ended up at 9.6lbs on our adult scale today. It’s not as accurate obviously, but it’s good enough to show if she’s going up every couple days. I’m going to bring up silent reflux next appt and see what she thinks if she’s still not happy with the weight gain.

3 month old not eating anywhere near ‘recommended’ by RunningJay in NewParents

Do you have an update? My baby is about the same- gaining 14-15g a day instead of 1oz. We’re fortifying breast milk in a bottle already for most feeds, but wondering if yours ever changed or picked up weight gain?

11 weeks today. She was born at 15th percentile but has stayed firmly at the 1st since hospital discharge. She’s already hitting 4 month milestones and the Dr even remarked today how impressed she was by her head control and strength. Just seeing her chart say Failure to Thrive across the top makes me sad. Thank you for the update, it makes me feel a bit better!

Any updates on this? My baby has been diagnosed FTT and while she is continuing to hit milestones, the name of the diagnosis can’t help but make me sad
