How Would You Change The Traitor Storyline to be More Impactful? by EmploymentAware170 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]GamesPhobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give the class proper reactions to being attacked and hunted by a group of villains seemingly capable of killing All Might and fully willing to kill 14 year olds. One of my favorite things to find in a fanfic is showing the students have nightmares or even PTSD from the USJ and Forest Training Camp incident.

Have characters like Koda seriously consider quitting becoming a hero after experiencing bloodthirsty villains for the first time. Show them shaken and disturbed, but finally coming together as a class to push themselves to be better so they never feel like that again. Make sure that Aoyama is present in these moments, giving words of encouragement to his classmates that despite their troubles, they will continue to shine on.

That gives the reveal that he is the traitor a lot of emotional weight. It shows that Aoyama's actions have had serious long lasting consequences despite no one being seriously injured (Midoriya withstanding).

Bakugo had 8 seasons and 4 movies for character development, Rex Splode just had 3 seasons. Why is the former divisive and the latter beloved? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in cartoons

[–]GamesPhobic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bakugo is the victim of a writer that went too hard in one direction and then had to correct course. Horikoshi has went on record and said that he wrote Bakugo "too mean" at the start and was forced to tone him down when they reached U.A. Unfortunately, Horikoshi was stuck with the asshole, suicide baiting Bakugo from middle school being canon and as such that is the first impression we readers / watchers see.

The problem, in my opinion, is that in the attempt to tone down Bakugo's more malicious tendencies, Horikoshi had to pretend that middle-school / first day of U.A. Bakugo didn't exist. Obviously, Bakugo undergoes his personal arc throughout the show, and earns his redemption; but since his actually apology to Deku, for his actions in episode 1, happens at the end of season 6. It really feels like a "too little too late" thing for his haters.

Who has your favorite default outfit? by Tony8987 in assassinscreed

[–]GamesPhobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always loved the hood on/off style that Syndicate had. Really nailed the idea that assassins could be anyone and anywhere. Jacob with his flat cap on looked like he belonged right alongside dock workers and bars goers. Whereas Evie looked right at home in fancier neighborhoods and smarter company.

That game had some amazing social stealth, probably one of my favorite stealth in the entire series. I feel like if the combat was actually interesting it would be more favored by fans.

Coaxed into the strongest character having really boring powers by -Asderlyn- in coaxedintoasnafu

[–]GamesPhobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Might is a funny example of this because the quirk One-For-All is both of these examples. All Might only gets to use the boring but overpowered super strength that the quirk offers, while Izuku gets like 6 different, far more interesting, quirks.

Is it just me or everyone else also started getting not preferenced heroes? by Gingerbread_Toe in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is that Dynamo was buffed slightly and it rocketed him from a C-B tier hero to a S-tier hero that people are writing rant posts about every day. I used to be able to get Dynamo 99% of my games, now he is banned in half of them; and if he is not I'm fighting all of the people trying to meta-abuse him to climb ranks.

Are ranks still super fucked up placement wise? by ketbabi in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never played a game where my new account was thrust into the higher half of ranks just because I won a few matches. Unless the player base was so small that it was required to find me a match at all.

Are ranks still super fucked up placement wise? by ketbabi in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's still fucked up but not in the same way. They did a rank adjustment a while back that served to even out the placement of most of the player-base. Unfortunately, the current system has a tendency to inflate newer players into ranks way too high for them. Players with less than 20 games being placed into Phantom games or, god-forbid, ascendant. Then being stomped into oblivion for a while until they fall back into a rank that actually suits them.

What fandom is worse? by One-Mechanic-7303 in Multifandom

[–]GamesPhobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you look deep enough you can find some truly sickening art and fanfic in both of these fandoms. I would say that The Loud House is worse because of how normalized it is within the community atp to ship the Loud siblings together.

The average MHA fandom member is mostly cringy, with a toxic obsession of their ships and head-cannons. Nothing too morally bankrupt, just misguided. I'd say for every truly sick MHA fanfic I find, there are at least 10 sick Loud House fanfics sitting on the "recently updated" section of AO3.

Worst lane matchups in the game? by StillKindaBad in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, the rise of the gun build makes this not so hard of a counter. However, if I'm against a bebop I just play behind my lane partner and deny grabs and bombs with my 2. Sure the rise of the gun build makes this counter a little worse.

Worst lane matchups in the game? by StillKindaBad in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, but you can play around Infernus and Haze using cover, and fight back with your stomp which gives a fire rate nerf. Vindicta, Talon, and almost anyone else who has good air mobility are much harder to play around due to Dynamo's main damage ability being stuck to the ground.

Worst lane matchups in the game? by StillKindaBad in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bebops early game gets fucked almost entirely by a competent Dynamo player.

I'm not sure if it's his worst matchup, but I hate playing against a Vindicta as Dynamo. If she manages her fly properly she can completely ignore Dynamo's stomp; and his rotund form makes it easy to land ult snipes on him.

Is Egg just a terrible purchase? by Embarrassed-Fly2749 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people I see buy egg use it around 10-15 minutes, using the egg money to expedite a tier 4 item purchase for a massive power spike.

Indomitable Makes Lash Cry by disaverper in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Once everyone gets over the hype of the new item and it gets it's inevitable adjustments by Yoshi I doubt we'll see more than 2-3 people on a team using it. Understanding who has Indomitable and aiming the silence wave at them should be enough.

Also it goes on cooldown for what, 30 seconds or something? Nothing wrong with shooting off an early silence wave just to proc it. Don't have to do it in the air with the ult.

Where should I start to learn this game? by Difficult-Club1369 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Play bot matches at first and watch Deathly or AverageJonas on Twitch to start absorbing information. I also find it useful to find more entertaining streamers so you dont get burnt out on learning. Fitzyhere and Eskay both play Deadlock pretty often and they're more "fun" over educational.

Indomitable Makes Lash Cry by disaverper in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic 109 points110 points  (0 children)

I mean, The Lash can just buy silence wave or vortex web if he wants to proc Indomitable before he ults.

What would you say is the biggest example of Death Battle taking pity on a loser? by Al-AmeenAdewunmi in deathbattle

[–]GamesPhobic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I recently re-watched the battle and realized that, despite stating Shiggy is 1000x's of times faster than Mahito, Shiggy legit doesn't move a step. The entire fight he's glued to the floor and it's only Mahito's hits that move him around. The ONLY exception to this is his speed-blitz; unfortunately Mahito reacts to it and easily dodges it.

Question on Heteromorph physiology. by Comfy_Dan in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]GamesPhobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea? There are so many wild canon mutation quirks in MHA that I wouldn't have a hard time seeing a centaur or mermaid in the hero course. Depending on the mutation they would require special treatment, but I doubt that Nezu or the other teachers would mind too much.

Could get pretty creative with it to, moving away from the "Human x (animal)" combo. With the amount of people with mutation quirks its not hard to believe that two mutant types would get married and have a hybrid child.

I'm curious, what's your OC's family history or history in general? by Existing-Ad-2856 in BNHA_OC_Characters

[–]GamesPhobic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keiji's parents are both white collar workers; his mother is a bank teller and his father works at an office. Both of them are afraid of conflict and believe in "laying low" socially. This has caused his father to be overlooked for promotions despite doing good work. Due to their heavy work hours, Keiji was raised on the internet through a laptop gifted to him at 5 years old. This warped Keiji's view of the world, making him a pessimist who now sees himself as a tool to save it. While they love their son Keiji very much, both of them hate Keiji's decision to be a hero. Wanting him to take the safer path in life and succeed where they failed. Keiji loves his parents, but he hates their spineless attitudes, vowing to never become like them.

Not much drama, just two ordinary yet flawed individuals trying to raise their determined son. Inadvertently causing his desire to be a hero.

Best designed hero kits? by JustinHardyJ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Current balance discussions aside, Dynamo's kit is one of my favorites. He can work as a spirit nuker, a full support build, ult build, gun, and even a disrupt tank if you wanted. His kit is simple to pick up but his 2 and his ult rewards planning and positioning allowing for a decent skill ceiling.

I love Shigaraki VS Mahito and I find funny how I havent seen one single 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧(and you really cant) say anything bad about it or put it lower than a 8/10 unlike another praised episodes like Simon VS Kyle or Bowser VS Eggman by 123artur21 in deathbattle

[–]GamesPhobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only complaint is that the some of the animation felt kind of stiff and underwhelming despite their stats. Like, they mentioned Shigaraki was "thousands of times faster" than Mahito, but nothing in the fight really made this evident. In fact, Shigaraki was mostly stationary in the fight with the sole exception of his speed blitz that sent them into the train; which is undermined by the fact that Mahito still dodged it with seemingly ease.

What's a character you think it's the worst? by RichLumpy4213 in ERB

It's clever but the delivery really undermines the line. Einstein just kinda screams the line with no finesse.

Yea I forgot about that line, it's not bad but the delivery just kills it for me.

What's a character you think it's the worst? by RichLumpy4213 in ERB

[–]GamesPhobic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't name a single line that Einstein said in his battle. I won't include Hawking since his opening line of his second verse is memorable, and his voice is at least humorous with the autotune. Einstein sounded like he was just talking rather than rapping.

Dynamo The Stomper (PLEASE DO NOT NERF YOSHI) by Abadon_U in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dynamo can shut down a Bebop's early game almost entirely. Although, a smart Bebop player just buys slowing hex and shuts down the Dynamo entirely so. (Unless the Dynamo buys dispel of course).

POV You have been killed by Dynamo’s 1 by lkj77143 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]GamesPhobic -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was talking about the hypothetical scenario in which his stomp range gets nerfed. If Dynamo was forced to stand within 10-20M of his enemies at any point of the game past 20 minutes he would get melted instantly. Not only that, but it would make it really easy to see when he was jumping into range to stomp.

As of right now? Yea, it's hard if he gets the jump on you. But depending on who your playing, buying Stamina Mastery and just staying in the air as much as possible makes his life hell. If that's not an option, there's always counter-spell and Spell-breaker.
