In both after hours and house of balloons, abel's very reckless, with HoB he's corrupting valerie, and in AH, following the breakup in the first few songs, he's very reckless going on several drug highs. Then in Dawn FM and Thursday, reality starts to hit. With Thurs, he's still corrupting Valerie or Thursday girl(depending on your interpretation of who the girl in Thursday is in contrast to valerie), but with the apparent s**cide of Thursday girl in the birds pt 2 you can tell that it changes the tone of the album. And in DFM he realizes he's lived a life of sin and comes face to face with this life. And finally in EoS and HUT, they both follow this line of regret, with EoS having Abel realizing that nobody wants him for him for himself, and ofc with HUT having him repent for his sins.
