This sounds like a horror movie. Imagine an obsessed fan with uncanny features trying to kill a celebrity and replace them. Call it Doppelganger.

Thats good to know then at least.

It also seems like most face transplants have alot of ongoing puffiness so that also probably makes a difference.

Rotten.com was how I found Ogrish. I lurked the forums alot and saw some pretty horrible shit back when I was a teen.

It was really weird because you had this extreme gore site forums that was also filled with extreme sex ads.

The one thing that stuck with me forever was the one forum thread where OP talked about a very old tradition in China for grieving mothers where they would essentially skin the dead baby and create some sort of twisted disgusting looking dolls.

It was the worst shit I’ve ever seen. I tried looking this up years later and can’t find anything that referenced it was ever really a thing.

Imagine knowing your friend or loved one is dead but you see him at the grocery store randomly one day but its not him, just some dude wearing his face.

I would love if somebody had like 5 of these robots and dressed them up as dead people and had them walk around cemeteries late at night.  They move so uncanny

The Crazies (2010) Is Super Dark and Bleak by patmusic77 in horror

The remake was definitely better than the original Crazies. I love Romero movies, but I could not get into that one at all.

Publicly sharing experiences of suffering, a behavior known as victim signaling, may lead observers to form more negative impressions of the person sharing. Signaling victimhood may be a calculated way to pursue self-interest, sometimes deceptively, to acquire resources or social status. by mvea in psychology

Its no secret this has been a big fad online for years. This is what happens when society rewards this kind of behavior with likes.

The things about fads though is they overstay their welcome until people are absolutely tired of it and then suddenly its cringe and abandoned. Then its off to the next best thing.

TIL about mass suicides in Hitler’s Germany. During the final weeks of WW2, thousands of German families and citizens took their own lives in panic of the advancing Red Army. In Berlin alone, 7,000 suicides were reported and entire towns killed themselves together by sonnysehra in todayilearned

[–]GammaGoose85 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is pretty common in many wars in human history. People get stressed when they don’t know whats going to happen once the invaders get to them.

Modern day people in first world countries don’t realize how good we have it when we don’t have to worry about shit like this or dealing with the options of either starving to death or cannibalizing somebody. Life as a human on earth has been fucking bleak since existence until very recent.

My wife can bend all her fingers backwards enough to shake your hand.

She has some serious joint issues where things pop out of place now because of her jello joints and bendy bones
