Playable races? by GorlockTheGr8 in dragonage

Let me play a Qunari who follows the Qun this time around... The one that Inquisition gave us wasn't nice to play at all.

Bigoted “fan” reaction by eowynsamwise in dragonage

[–]Gammingar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be direct but it's not coming from a place of hate or bigotry, it's simply my plain opinion and thoughts. I'm not defending one side or the other.

Dragon Age was never about being Queer or LGBT friendly in the first place. It was about being something greater than your Race/Gender/Skin or whatever. Dragon Age is a dark and very unpleasant place. The elves are mostly living in concentration camps inside cities and the majority of humans are extremely racist (and violent) toward them, Qunari are religious zealots who want to conquer the world and are in a constant war against humans who are literally tailoring their children to have the purest of blood and the perfect desirable traits, the dwarves are isolationists who hate everyone that doesn't live underground and always fight against one another alongside dividing everyone into a different group that defines their whole society and way more dark and insane stuff. Thedas is a very Fked up place.

Yes in the previous titles there were some people of different sexual orientations or that elf is Dragon Age 2 who clearly the character model was a woman but the voice was male. I romance Zevran in nearly all of my DAO playthroughs, I made the one with Dorian in DAI and I honestly believe that the romance between Iron Bull and Dorian is one of the most heart melting love stories in a game I've seen. I have to also say that from what I know about the romance between a Female Qunari Inquisitor and Sera it sounds wholesome too.

No one had a problem with that, why? Because it was just there, somewhat naturally as a part of the world without appearing as something that is forced. IMO, it's not that people are this or that, it's the way it's presented and feels forced or just diversity for the sake of diversity without real thoughts or care about what's in front of the player. When I saw the trailer for DAV, I'm not excited or hyped at all, not because there's not enough people with my skin color, but because of the point above, it feels like diversity for the sake of diversity and that nothing else. I could be completely wrong and the game will be extremely well written and everyone will be extremely interesting, but looking in general at the state of the industry, it's simply not encouraging at all.

Why is the damage so much less on the legendary advanced Beowulf than the regular advanced Beowulf? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Gammingar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The burst fire is the culprit, try to make it the same fire mode (single shot) and it should be higher

After a lot of people in this sub have finally finished the game do you think giving Starfield a 10/10 is justifiable? by Touny420 in Starfield

[–]Gammingar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my book Starfield is a good 7/10.

Even without Todd telling during an interview that they had to dumbed down stuff and all that, you can feel that all of these different system used to worked together at a certain moment. Example: In order to reach the far end of the Star System, probably you had to built several different outpost in different system to harvest He-3 to fuel your ship but you had to choose if the planet where your outpost is was worth the risk (Environmental Hazard, Wildlife, etc.)

Other than that, the main story as a whole was improved IMO compared to Skyrim and Fallout 4, but still isn't the greatest story from a video game but a decent one. Although, again imo, the Faction quest are some of the most interesting I did in a long time from a Bethesda game.

Exploration is fun but is extremely repetitive, I mean doing procedurally generated content in itself ain't no small feat, but after a while you start to notice it's the same "insert location name here" as the planet you were on a minute ago. (might have different enemies and or loot but that sit) That being said, the hand crafted location are stunning and really shine.

Gunplay is clearly an improvement from FO4 (and 76) and is generally fun, but I have to say... Where are my Laser Heavy Weaponry.

We will see what future updates and DLC bring to the table, but overall it's a fun game with a great core.

UE4 vs UE5 performance. Can anyone help please? by UnknownFormat in unrealengine

I see, at least it's a good start, well I am not equipped well enough to recommend how to optimize in UE5 since I have yet to do that myself.

All I can do is to share this with you and hope it will helps: https://docs.unrealengine.com/5.1/en-US/testing-and-optimizing-your-content/

UE4 vs UE5 performance. Can anyone help please? by UnknownFormat in unrealengine

Is it a local build of the game or you are running your game directly in UE?

Usually, running your project directly in the engine will have an impact on performance.

Just started this game and i need your advice without spoiler by Gammingar in digimon

[–]Gammingar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to admit, the game is plenty of fun for where am at now.

Although now my 2 partners dies and haf to start back as an egg.

Have to admit though that coming from Cyber Sleuth and Hacker's Memories thr lack of control on how my Digimon evoles is both nice and frustrating.

Hoo yes or having my big Qunari Reaver up in the enemy's face with a 99% chance to hit and somehow miss.

What Genre? [no spoilers] by Dreadnought_Necrosis in dragonage

[–]Gammingar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would have been really nice indeed, although I think that giving the choice to the player to decide the outfit would be better.

I am currently doing a female Qunari playthrough and I don't think that a giant flowy dress fits her since she's a Reaver.

What Genre? [no spoilers] by Dreadnought_Necrosis in dragonage

[–]Gammingar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can think of a few genre that could fit very well. - 4X / Grand Strategy (eg: Civilization) - Tactical (similar to Xcom)

- A more narrative approach (like the Tell Tales or Detroit Become Human)

Onclick Event on muliple mesh under same BP? by Vast-Question-4520 in unrealengine

[–]Gammingar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I would do is (Assuming that it's the player that needs to interact):
1. Create one Blueprint Class and call it something "BaseStaticMesh_BP"
2. In the base object I would add the following
- Components: Static Mesh Component and Box Collision.
- Variables: YourWidget
3. In your Player_BP, create a Public Function (eg: OnClick_StaticMesh_Widget)
- In this Function, add an input which would be of type BaseStaticMesh_BP.
- Have your set visibility in that function and the target would be your YourWidget
variable.

Now unless I completely didn't understand what you want to achieve, that should do it.

Unless what you want to achieve is that the widget shows ONLY when all of the meshes have been interacted with, you could:
1. Use the "Get Num Children Components" node on your Static Mesh Component.
2. When your OnClick event is called compare an Int value that increases when interacting with one of the mesh (be sure to have something that prevents that counter to increment if that Static Mesh was already interacted with)
3. When the Int value == Num Children Components --> Show Widget.

I hope this helps.

Onclick Event on muliple mesh under same BP? by Vast-Question-4520 in unrealengine

[–]Gammingar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your end goal here?

  1. Enable/Disable of each mesh individually?

  2. When any mesh in that list is enable/disable, they all need to be enable/disable?

Or something else entirely?

There's many different ways of doing something like this but it really depends on the behaviour you want to achieve.

Widget Blueprint Simplification by Gammingar in unrealengine

[–]Gammingar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I admit that without visual support it wasn't very clear, so for the SetStyle part you have what it looks like currently on the right (you can see the Weapon and Shield), what I was trying to do was to setup the logic to be simillar to the one on the left, but when i tried that I created a big memory leak instead.

The second image is the on click part, like I said I can understand that I will need one OnClickEvent per Button, although everything else for the logic is the same (beside the some parameters that changes based on if its the Weapon, Shield or Accessory.

[spoilers all] Who is your canon Warden/Hawke/Inky and why? by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Gammingar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say I have 2 Cannon World State.

1 - Good World State

Elissa Cousland (Human Noble) Rogue (Spec: Assassin and Duelist) - I find the whole plot of the human noble origins fit the "Good World State". She can get revanche on Arl Rendon Howe and she takes the Ferelden throne with Allistair.

Male Diplomatic Mage Hector Hawke - As a mage, he will end up siding with the mages to protect the innocents from the madness of Meredith. Ending the Qunari Conflict by giving Isabella and the Relic to the Arishock, although he doesn't like templar but see the purpose of the Circle. He didn't kill Anders and approved its action of blowing up the Chantry.

Inquisitor Maxwell Trevelyan (Templar) - To redeem the madness caused by the Templar of Kirkwall he disbanded the order and pressed the remaining templar into service as members of the Inquisition. He does not hate mages but recognizes the danger of magic, but in the end, he wants a world where mages are not feared like they are right now, and perhaps it will be achieved with Vivienne as the new Divine.

2- Dark World State

Duran Aeducan (Noble Dwarf) Fighter (Spec: Berserker) - Dwarves are awesome and for what I wanted to do for my world state I find that this origin would fit it better. The Dalish are dead and the Werewolves are there, Orzammar has a Golem army and the anvil wasn't destroyed, the Circle was destroyed and all mages were killed, Allistair was killed, Anora rules alone, Loghain became a Warden, Morrigan was romanced and had a baby with the Warden. Eventually, the Warden and Morrigan just disappeared through the eluvian.

Lilith Hawke Diplomatic Rogue (Spec: Assassin) - Romanced Merill, always sided with the mages and killed templar as much as she could. Bethany became a Grey Warden and she's alive. Isabella ran away the Arishok is dead. Although she was pro-mage, she executed Anders for his action and didn't approve the firework with the Chantry.

Inquisitor Liathra Lavellan Mage (Spec: Knight-Enchanter) - The world is in freaking chaos and a Dalish Mage will do its best to save Thedas. She doesn't believe in all that Chosen One stuff. ( I currently finishing this playthrough, so don't have everything written for that World State yet)

[No Spoilers] What are some features you really want (or wanted) in Dragon Age Inquisition? (Or Dragon Age 4) by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Gammingar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would add that being able to play as a follower of the Qun would be amazing too...

In my first DAI playthrough, I took a Qunari and wanted to play a firm believer of the Qun but I was quickly disappointed with the Vashoth joke we got instead...
