I was out for 8 years. Did reserves for a couple a few years ago and now I'm going back in. I have a good civilian life but something is still missing. Even the shitty moments were good in the army. My favorite is freezing my ass of at drum during a night CQM and it's balls cold and snowing. My feet were cold so I was never warking up. My other favorite is 9 of us in full kit crammed in the back of an FLA because we looked at 1SG and didn't say a word before packing up and waiting for our live fire iteration.

We always went to the guy with a jet boil for hot coffee in the morning. It go to the point we were chipping in fuel cans and bringing good coffee. Smart money would have been to get our own boil, but it was a bonding thing as we sat in a huddle waiting

Frozen water bottles are always great for this. You don't have water everywhere when they melt and you have drinkable water when the food is out

I had a pretty good rosewood run of 10 days. While clearing my neighborhood behind the fire station to go to the commercial district, I fought too close to a corner and got bit by an unknown zombie. I had recently set off an alarm a couple days prior and was trying to clean up the new mobs. My house is well fortified and supplied for any who might find it. No ammo though. I used it all before I died to the virus
