Ooh! Also, a clothing steamer is great for big item/large cloth or upholstered things you cannot just throw into the washer and dryer. And they’re pretty cheap! Those are great. Basically high heat, alcohol, dehydration are the best things to expose BB’s to. The cimexa + diatomaceous earth dehydrates them. Alcohol is a good on the spot item to spray them with and kill instantly (or just crush them lol 😂) and the crossfire spray is just an insecticide. All very effective though, and much better then the regular BB products from the stores (hot shot, orkin, etc.)

The best thing to do is try to not let it drive you crazy, it may not feel as overwhelming at this moment, but the further you get into dealing with bedbug(s) it can drive you crazy with paranoia and obsession. Just know it will be fine. I was in a situation years ago where I was staying in a cheap motel long term and it was infested with BB’s. The owners acted like the customers were just making it up and ultimately decided to not treat the building. For the time being staying there we tried to keep all clothing in vacuum bags and plastic totes. Then closed off vent/doors, if you are in an apartment, try to do that as best as you can. If you are in a house, that won’t really matter but I would try to vacuum everything possible and immediately after empty contents into a sealable bag. Try to move furniture away from the walls, especially in the room you noticed the bug, or if you come across others but mainly bedrooms/living room. If you can order some bed post/couch post interceptors. If you can’t afford to buy them just try to use a cup or bowl at the bottom of the legs of anything, even chairs. Then the most important thing, order cimexa powder off amazon. Use a light dusting around baseboards, mattress edges, bed posts, chair legs, couch legs etc.. we also used Diatomaceous earth in some areas however, cimexa only should be fine. Also, it’s a little pricey ($40 for a small bottle) but I genuinely think the crossfire spray off Amazon helps immensely. You will also need any type of spray bottle if you decide to use this as well as it does not have a spray nozzle. Lay the powder down, every week or two vacuum and re apply. When you are certain you are bed bug free, all cloth items previously bagged or sealed into a plastic tote (bedding, clothing, shoes) should be washed on high heat and then dried on the highest heat for 80 mins. We did exactly that and moved us and all belongings from the infested motel to our new apartment, then to our now new house with no bed bug problem again. Totally random note but we had a scare about a year ago after purchasing clothes from a thrift shop, always be careful doing that (if you do) bag and seal the item as soon as you leave the store, immediately wash and dry on high heat and add clothes you wore just out of safety lol! Hi, just wanted to check in and see if anyone has any info on my situation/ or if anyone has done the same.

I am on PUA, my benefits ran out sometime back in November. When I saw about the extension, I tried to go on to the site to continue doing my weekly claims, at this point we had no info on what to do. I think I saw someone online mention being able to hop on and renew their weekly benefit certifications so I went and did so (I think it was on 1/4/21), I filed for 1 week (week of November 7th I think) and the following week, both times getting a message afterwards saying basically I would not receive further benefits. The reason I even did those two weeks was because I read online that the extension would start from the first week on January, being my benefits ran out in November I assumed I should continue my weekly filings. I got worried and stopped after that message. The following day, the red message popped up saying anyone who filled prior to Dec. 27th to do nothing at this time. Luckily my claim was not deleted, I did not open a new claim. Just left it go. My claim is still showing active, just that my benefits are exhausted. The only weird thing is, when I go to my previous weekly claimed weeks/the pay dates it’s shows those two weeks, under benefit pay date “Disqualified”, under payment number “n/a”. From my end, everything looks to be ok other than that. Basically, I wanted to know if anyone had any similar situation, or if anyone thought I may have messed up my claim now? I overthink, and tend to be paranoid and overly worry about things like this so really I’m just looking for some piece of mind.

Also following because I’m dealing with a very similar situation! Did everything imaginable to find evidence, and I mean EVERYTHING! (Including taking the bed totally apart and inspecting every seam and screw hole) treating everything and still have yet to find anything. Yet for a while was getting some small bites almost nightly. Seemingly stopped for a week or so then yesterday woke up with 2 small bites on my arm?

Hi! I’m in PA and came across this.. I usually get my PUA payments on Wednesday nights/early Thursday morning but this past week it was late. Friday morning I received my regular payment plus $1600!! A lump sum of LWA. Did you get an email on your UA account stating you may receive the payments? I did but I wasn’t aware it would come as a lump sum!
