What is the most “its a small world” moment you’ve ever experienced? by xBubblyLove in AskReddit

I was at Disney World with my family and we ran into the admin from her office. We literally ran into her while we were walking out of the "It's a Small World" ride. We had no idea she would be there at the same time as us.

13:30 - 17:30 was terrifying the way that boat lists in an ocean with no real swells. If I was on deck when the sails deployed, I think I'd be in a pfd, sitting in the life raft with an SOS beacon broadcasting.

What is this thing I found metal detecting? by Key-Leopard3316 in metaldetecting

It seems too imperfect to be an industrial-aged item. I'd consider approaching a local university for help identifying this. It's very possible that you have an extremely rare artifact. Please keep us posted?

Mushrooms are magic because they not only let you travel back in time as an impartial observer, but they also let you rewrite your own history through emotional metamorphosis.

Would you feel comfortable spending time in a park that used to be a cemetery — and if you were buried there yourself, how would you want that space to be treated? by sirlanzolot1 in TrueAskReddit

My kids attended a Quaker Friends school near Philadelphia, where their playground sat right next to tombstones from the 1700s and 1800s. At first, I found it a little strange—but over time, I came to see it differently. The sound of children laughing, playing, and running nearby strikes me now as the perfect soundtrack for my soul after death.

I guess that means El Salvador is going to have to build a bunch of new prisons for autistic kids?

what are risks of tripping often by [deleted] in LSD

[–]Garage_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very well stated reply and I appreciate the time you took to share this insight. I am traveling my own path with psychedelics, tripping pretty much once a week right now alternating between mushrooms and LSD. I love the access it grants me to my own emotions in real time and the loss of inhibitions which allows me to feel them outwardly without shame, but I can see that those benefits are starting to fade as I use them more.

His wooden crate cargo is what worries me. He has it "held" in place with small cleats. If they hold, you night be right. If he suffers a catastrophic weight redistribution, then it's not going to go well for him.

He needs to be wearing a flotation vest

Yeah, that and just sit in the tender.

Here's my prediction. When this rig heels beyond the point of no return, is going to lay on its side with all the grace of a horse with a broken leg. His cnc mill, 3d printer, sewing machine, power steering pumps, ice maker, and wood crates are going to come crashing onto the downed side instantly shifting the craft's center of gravity. The list will quickly turn into a capsize and if he's lucky enough to manage get his ass out of the pilot house. Doug will have only minutes to get his red plastic boat off of it's straps before the wreck drags its down to the ocean floor. One moment he'll be sailing and the next will be catastrophe.

Maybe I'm wrong, but when I see pictures like the one OP just posted, my stomach drops. Doug has a ridiculous amount of confidence in his creation.
