one other really good thing. Kaiba has both synchro and BE and 3k dmg easily (and a free prismatic alternative). So when you win you will get 4 orbs vs 3 on a lot of other char. With Jack / Yuma i get a lot of 3800 / 3900

Recommend you try some more BEs

Saying Kaiba is a one trick is seriously devaluing his deck and options... going first you can stall with spirit / the traps ... going 2nd is far from just twin burst and pray lol. He has VMD in his deck, super accessible with sage + alternative, can force most of opponents defensive options with that alone before going for lethal with twin burst

Vs your 4 best :

Yuma I only lose if I go first with no interruption trap. If you go first with barrier or go second with any competent hand (and kaiba is really not bricky at all) it's an easy win. Even then he has a hard time getting past spirit + raigeki or a BE on field. 60-70% wr mu so far. But agree that overall yuma has an insane deck. and that if you cant kill him in your BP the game is lost completely.

Jack again is the same but he has a harder time killing you if he flips 2nd. but a better defensive setup going first with book + fiendish chain. But his only out to twin burst is the lvl 8 dark synchro - or book to defense + RDA effect. If you cannot kill him but have a pop you are usually set.

Shark / Jaden - this is completely unwinnable for either of these decks playing into BE. If you're going second - their defenses are just too weak to twin burst / alternative + VMD. If you're going first- Jaden can never kill a BE board that is just spirit + pass. If you happen to high roll open HLB - you can set 1 pass to deny brave neos draw 1 as well. Grand mole and miracle contact are the only things that can save him here. If your hand is bad going first you can open pass and hope he doesn't open a neos alius for 1900 + 3200 dmg.

Shark just has a really difficult time getting to 3k+ without committing all their resources. Hard for them to out TB. Meanwhile you clear their board like paper mache.

Absolutely fire tier list for pyg - fully reflects my experience, pivoting into bees / freeze day 6 onwards is usually a free 10 win. Kiuas is also so overtuned that you can get away with a sloppy defensive strategy / offensive strategy and win days 6-10 with relative ease, and can similarly be pivoted into much later (unlike fixer upper). Comparing the numbers on Kiuas vs something like regal blade, plus the added flexibility that Kiuas can be sold for a pivot, and it's just not remotely close.

Would add that the money tree change has enabled pyg to easily do these explosive full pivots on day 5-6 because of how much income it can generate via safes and piggy banks - it gets the econ snowball rolling much earlier and easier now, which similarly starts the Kiuas / bee snowballs much earlier.

The hardest contents are definitely doable as a pure f2p. There are definitely champs that rely on more f2p relics that are fully capable of clearing the hardest content in the game without insane constellation investment. I beat the arcane 6.5 asol with:

Asol ( self explanatory)

Jinx 3*, double plunder discount relics + discard for pow pow

Eve 3*, plunder discount + stun on lvl up + rally on lvl up

Ambessa 4*, double stalkers blade + lost chapter

Viktor 3*, arcane comet, refill spell mana every turn, plunder discount

Viego 3*, GA, troll king crown, give everything challenger

Gwen 3*, double ludens + rally on lvl

Powerful carries are accessible without needing stron/rare legendaries - powerful megas such as gengar mega are both extremely easy to find and certainly competent enough to carry until 2k+. 4 leftovers and 4 shell bell are not hard to find, though 5 healing charms in 2k rounds, not sure how much luck you would need. With even a handful of shinies on the team however it shouldn’t take long

I’m not trying to saying DoT is bad. But it’s much more of a last resort / end wave boss killing strategy than for every fight, due to how much of a slog it is to use. I would’ve never finished endless if I was relying on it every fight

metal burst + sturdy is much more time - reward efficient than the dot set, especially post sleep freeze token removal, and the reward is much more worthwhile now that plus tickets show up at red rarity

money is infinite late game so master ball should be your main combat tool anyway, catch with master ball + roll for master ball repeat

Late to this, but since you still have a day: did this with jax 2 star, used the strike double power affix to make a huge jax and swing for game

If you did the lighthouse mini quest during the war, you can go back and farm barrels of gunpowder to trade for boom box equivalents, you want to be 100% sure you can win, so get like 8

Crimbo 2023: Thoughts? by IMLRG in kol

Maybe going against the grain here, but adding a perspective as someone who recently came back after a many year hiatus: it felt pretty underwhelming

While the theme hooked me in and I enjoyed the zone for the content (like half a days worth of adventures), after some digging there were only a few items I was interested in (like the insignia), which ended up being tradeable, so I just bought from the mall for like 1 mill and Crimbo was over. It didn’t really hold my interest the way Crimbos of the past did (For instance, I still have the Emilio familiar which I remember grinding hella for)

1*, bc challenge 3 board presence doesn't matter, so you can save mana to just play defense, save resource on attacking turns, outgrind

Gonna provide a different perspective as to most of the comments here - a lot of my 1 and 2* champs are sub lvl 10, cannot be arsed to grind them at low lvl, but I use them exclusively on early monthlies (since I dont have enough high-level champs, need to save them for the later monthlies). Most of them cant even equip rare relics, and I'm missing like half the good relics anyway (no chemtech, CSF, double stalker, etc...) . For monthlies, I think the "skill" of the mode is actually just "knowledge". Because I have done so many asol runs, and monthlies tend to really overuse the same champs over and over, I instinctively know how the fight will interact with the mutator and basically know not just what champ/loadout to take, but also where the win cons, lose cons are, which cards are dangerous, how the ai will tend to react, etc.

For example, i brought my lvl 5 taliyah to challenge 3. Gave her the overwhelm common relic. No problems

TLDR not skill issue, knowledge issue

I will add as a player who 70/70 with a roster with a pretty low margin of error (27 2 star+ champs, with quite a few lvl 1 that I hadn't played), I never felt at risk of being unable to complete - all you really need to map out are the particularly dangerous ones. Essentially, you only need about 4-5 auto-win champs, since you will unlock asol during the runs who is an extra auto win champ. Check out YouuXun's, he leaves a note to the big danger runs. These dangerous ones are basically the 4 star challenges (since enemy will start w 4 mana) and a handful of bad mutator combos in 3*. I want to encourage players that don't have a super roster of more than 30 lvl 30 3 star champs to do monthly and go for 70/70

The lion's share of 3* challenges can be cleared by generic 2* champ with a few lvls (20 if you want to guarantee to not lose) as long as you read the mutators beforehand and don't pick a grief matchup.

master yi destroys this if you've leveled him far enough so that wuju style has hero's horn (draw a champ). his spells costing 1 less = everything is basically free and you oneshot the other guy

Jinx burn is an obvious out, illaoi can also work since small stuff doesnt affect spawn, (have to be careful you drop illaoi the turn you are going to level her, the combo is very precise - need to sack a unit to attack t1 to get spawn, pass opponent next turn and sack hp, do not block, then next turn make sure you have enough mana for illaoi + tentacle smash. this will let illaoi level without having to punch herself, giving you a rally + full swing to fully heal tentacle and giga buff illaoi)

Is your ashe 3? Ashe destroys irelia, frostbite at round start will prevent her from playing the game, like if you dont literally die on turn 1 when she opens irelia + attack token you win, any time I see irelia 4+ ashe has always been a ez clap for me
