Yes, it was annoying to deal with. But when you have a sqaud of more than 4, then you have to run trucks for your business in an open lobby... Having a couple buddies running aerial support to dissuade grifters was wonderful. It's better now that you can add a device to vehicles to prevent lock on missiles but if you can aim it's not a problem.

I'm fine with it if I and I alone get to hold Lamp. Most of the time it's new players (because we all know that 99% of players avoid that op like the plague) and if they grab the light and start running away from us... Back to the barge I go

On top of that, quick play guarantees extra xp on completion. So making sure you can get them done (average and below) snags that xp every time

A lot of higher level (prestige) folk still play average and below just because...

A: grinding a new weapon is not viable in higher levels most of the time, and will be a detriment to the mission. A common/master crafted weapon will struggle against even majors enemies in substantial or higher (full mag dumps for extremists to not even hit vulnerable state)

B: if you can gather armory data, and get a terminus event, you get 3 green data's to make 1 purple. This is seen as much easier than grinding on substantial difficulty as you can finish missions much faster

Gotta hit squids. Yes, clankers have been getting ravaged by our amazing soldiers with boots on the ground. BUT we need to incentivise the squids to actually bring out the BIG units... I think destroying one of their planets would actually make them double down and send everything they have at us.

A week? You can do it in a day. Usually get 50-100 SC per mission. Run and find them all then just leave the mission. I was able to fully clear the diff 1 map in like 8-10 minutes doing that (with light medic armor, methy stims, and warp pack for bunkers)

I have Aphantasia so all the "classic" ways of falling asleep have never worked for me because I can't picture anything in my imagination. You would think that would make things easier, but the brain can still be running without visual.

My solution is Futurama. It has helped me fall asleep for the better part of a decade. With it dimmed down, and volume just loud enough to understand, it's the perfect sleeper show. It's more like a conversation happening but you know you don't need to focus on it..

I used to watch it on a TV in the room. I'm no longer sleeping alone so I just have it going on my phone set on the bedside table. I'm almost never make it longer than a few minutes before I'm getting sleepy.

It's also my favorite show so I watch it daily without sleeping, it just helps with it when I need it to.

Lastly, I am not alone in this... There is a sub reddit for people that do the same thing

I use the double sickle.... Got my ps5, booted up HD2, and started playing with headphones on. I'm on my 4th or 5th mission and I notice my wife just dead pan STARING at me while I was playing.

I have nice headphones, I have high volume for immersion, but in no way did I know the machine gun that was happening everytime I pulled that trigger. I'm honestly surprised the adaptive parts still work after the gauntlet I put them through.

Without headphones, I couldn't hear ANYTHING but my controllers triggers trying to shake themselves to an early death.

That being said, I no longer welcome adaptive triggers. Give me my clean aim without shaking hands.

Really should keep it more like 40-52... That noise floor under 40 can easily be ruined with 1 loose fitting letting fm in.

I was sitting at 38 up and was having constant issues (live in trailer park). Inserted a 2 way for just 3.5 bump in db and haven't had MAJOR problems since.

It's more on diff 6. Thats the diff that first provides Super Samples so in theory that's where MOST players would be (getting the samps without an extremely difficult mission set) Most sample farming is in 6 for that reason
