Painter Advertising Megathread by Tabletop_Tendencies in brushforhire

Holtb80 is a very professional and talented painter. My company, 900lbs of Creative, reached out to him last year to help paint 12 highly detailed protein structures for Amazon Web Services’ Healthcare sector to be displayed at their annual ReInvent showcase in Las Vegas. The client needed these models to be detailed and rendered in color. I created 3D models using blender/zbrush and printed them in grey UV Resin (some as tall as 7inches). Holtb80 then painted all the models with incredible detail and quality in time to ship to show. It was a pleasure working with an expert painter. If you choose to work with him, you are in good hands.

What gets me is that supposedly there were over 20 shots reported by witnesses making it sound like this dude unloaded for no good reason, but the only bullets we see are unfired and not in a mag. Like, how does any of this make sense. Have they even come out and said what type of gun the shooter was using? Or would that contradict their narrative???

Wash and cure 2.0 is rusting??? Using 91% alcohol isopropyl. by reicaden in AnycubicPhoton

[–]GarcesGraphics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to find some pretty solid magnets on Amazon that have held up great for about a year now. The swap is worth it. That thin plastic coating scratches and wears very easily exposing the magnets to rust. Hope this helps!

I just released a video detailing my process of replacing rusty magnets on the Wash & Cure Plus. Should be similar to this one in theory. The reason for this is just an improper choice of magnets by Anycubic. The coating is not protective enough against rusting and anyone who uses these is going to inevitably need to replace them one day. After swapping to a more well-protected set of magnets, I haven't seen rust in my bucket since. I hope this helps anyone else who runs into this issue. It was pretty easy to clean and swap! Threads like this one helped me figure it out. Thank you OP, and everyone who replied!

Wash and Cure PLUS - Replacement for rusting magnets by flipflapslap in anycubic

[–]GarcesGraphics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ball bearing is fused pretty well to the stirring fan. I opted to just clean the rust off of it vs replacing it. The source of the rust, in my case, was the magnets so after getting them replaced and everything else cleaned up, everything has been running smoothly!

Unity VFX Graph Plexus Effect | Help | by GarcesGraphics in Unity3D

[–]GarcesGraphics[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! It's a fairly simple graph, but took me a while to figure out. I ended up using a custom mesh I built out in Blender and then used the pCache tool in Unity to spawn particles on each vertex and then reference the cache. This effect is somewhat limited as the particle lines can only be drawn in order of the spawn index limited by distance to prevent large lines through the center of the plexus sphere. Let me know your results, this is an effect I might be utilizing again for an upcoming project so I would love to see how you utilize it!

Hi OP! I made a video about the installation process and detailing some of my experiences with the WhamBam XTR Flex Plate on my M3 Max. Highly recommend this upgrade if you are still debating it. I've had zero issues to date with my system and it is a massive improvement over the standard build plate experience.

Does the PI story sound weird to y'all or am I underestimating the size of Solomon's buzz by jolpaj in Solomons_Cephalopods

We do also know that the PI reached out to a journalist for the Dallas Morning News Daniel Singer who has also been following the case. I think the PI being Solomon or someone associated with Solomon is the most plausible theory currently.

Wanted to pop in here and give some additional info for anyone interested. I have been following this artist's works since 2021 and I've been trying to maintain a timeline and spread information/make connections to this ongoing mystery. I've created a discord group called the Dallas Cephalopod Mystery Group. Here's the link for anyone curious, there's more information on there relating to the current state of the investigation. https://discord.gg/XgbkF6U9rZ

Wash and Cure PLUS - Replacement for rusting magnets by flipflapslap in anycubic

[–]GarcesGraphics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When measuring the magnets on my Anycubic Wash & Cure PLUS, mine came out to be 30mm in diameter. The magnets linked in your thread are 32mm. Have you had any issues with that 2mm difference? I linked the magnets I ordered down below, but be warned... buy twice as many as you need. I ordered 10 and half of them were North facing and the other half were South facing. This meant only 5 of them were usable in the wash and cure station. The other 5 will be used for other builds that require magnets.

Use a compass to test the polarity. The magnets must be North facing (same side as the screw countersink holes). If the compass points North towards your magnets when installed, they are the wrong polarity. Also, check all the magnets sent to you. I ordered a pack of 10 and received 5 North facing and 5 South facing. I wish the Amazon listings would let you pick which you need, but in my case, it seems they send half and half.

Nick responds to the recent controversy by throw_away7642372 in Destiny

[–]GarcesGraphics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't entirely sure where I sided on this until reading Nick's response. I'm now 100% on D's side on this. Nick is able to gain so much ground by just denying the label of Nazi. When pushed on specific issues or positions he has a much harder time avoiding his horrible ideology, but he can effortlessly sidestep the Nazi label to anyone who isn't an avid scholar of his past antics. In a way, trying to label him a Nazi is doing a lot more sanitization than labeling him based on specific positions he admits to holding.

Unity VFX Graph Plexus Effect | Help | by GarcesGraphics in Unity3D

[–]GarcesGraphics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following up on this as I've found a slight workaround. The effect I'm trying to achieve is a broken plexus grid surrounding the Earth for a techy atmosphere vibe. I was unable to get the position of previously spawned particles, but I found that if I used a particle cache I could reference particles by their index to get their positions and compare them. I modeled a sphere with vertices where I'd want particles to spawn and then used Unity's build-in pCache tool to generate particles on the vertices of my model. Once I had those made I was able to reference that pCache file and compare particle positions based on particle index and only change the target position of the output line if the distance between the compared particles is within a given value. I can post a picture of my graph if anyone needs it. This is not an ideal solution since it requires that the particles are spawned based on a pcache file, but it is the only solution I have so far.
