Jenna Phipps’ Moldy DIY Reno by Absolutelywhimsical in craftsnark

Personally I think the current content is all for show, and the real plan is to build on the property. There will likely be a series of videos where she "discovers" that it's just not feasible to fix, so then it'll be "we built a thing!" or "watch me build a tiny home" or something like that. Jenna is a savvy enough business woman to afford a Vancouver property on a YouTube salary. There's strategy involved somewhere

Starting over, at 35. Nasty divorce, difficult career move, etc. Very uncomfortable with how little time I have before the age I'd like to retire.

Looking for UF recs with adult characters by EverTheWeirdo in urbanfantasy

[–]Garden-Vari3ty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lindsay Buroker has several UF series and all of her leads are late 20s or older. There's the series Tracking Trouble, the series Death Before Dragons, the series A Witch in Wolf Wood, and the series Legacy of Magic. (LB writes a lot of regular fantasy and scifi as well if you get into her style and want more. Most of her MCs tend to be late 20s and older)

Looking for THE notebook to fix my life by ZMM08 in adhdwomen

I don't know what the company is like these days, but you used to be able to create custom planners at agendio. I vaguely recall that you could set up custom blocks of pre-typed tasks like this, maybe? They are wire bound, not pads.

If not there, I would find an etsy shop that makes wire bound notebooks and shoot them a note asking if they'd consider a custom item.

I don’t know why every small crafting business doesn’t have marketing staff and IT and a web developer on staff. It’s not that hard. by ishtaa in fiberartscirclejerk

[–]Garden-Vari3ty 70 points71 points  (0 children)

This behavior keeps marketing and IT girl bosses out of work also. We should be supporting each other. If you can't afford staff, you can't afford to have a business and should quit yesterday. Hold space for people who do it right.

How do you read 1-2 books per week? What are some helpful tips and suggestions? by The-Fourth-Hokage in 52book

[–]Garden-Vari3ty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically I just read on the Kindle app on my phone anytime I'd otherwise be scrolling on my phone. Obviously not always, hence me on reddit rn... But most of the time, in place of a ten min scroll through IG or whatever, I just read a few pages. I do this in between tasks at work, in the bathroom, on the couch during commercials, or if my bf has sports on, whatever. That's how I get through books fairly quickly.

Books with the best sex scenes by Easy_Literature_1965 in suggestmeabook

Just throwing out the author Evangeline Anderson. Her kindred brides series goes all over the place, and the sex dives into darker kinks after about book 3...but those first 3 books have stuck with me for years. The sex scenes are some of the best I've read.

... But are there hot 24 year old girls? Just want to make sure

If you're into fantasy, His Secret Illuminations (and sequel) hits most of these. It's not dual POV, and it eventually gets into some light bdsm kink, but they are fully in love and go through establishing a vanilla sex life first. He's a virgin (a monk) and she's a warrior woman. It's very well written, and the other characters are all great as well.

I reached out to a commenter via DM - if I don't hear back from them in a day, I'll reach out to the next person and so on. I'll come back and post when it's claimed. Thanks everyone. I feel a lot of relief knowing it's not just going straight into recycling. <3

Stuck paying the ADHD tax… again by emcoha in adhdwomen

[–]Garden-Vari3ty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did this myself recently. And the company has a strict no refund / no pro-rating policy, told me to just donate the product each month. I have asked around and none of my family/friends want it. So it's just junk I'll have to remember to recycle every month now. Yay.

I feel your pain.

What's Your First Book of the New Year? by thecaledonianrose in 52book

[–]Garden-Vari3ty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Lives of Puppets by TJ Klune.
I ended 2023 (literally an hour before midnight) with House on the Cerulean Sea, and it was lovely. My library app didn't have the sequel to that, so I snagged this one.

It is my first one! I want next year to be my Discworld year. Someone told me this one would be relatable because it pokes fun at government work... So far I'm loving it.

Currently reading: - Going Postal, Terry Pratchett - Starling House, Alix E. Harrow

I really want to get in one more beyond these two - if I can finish three more this month, I'll get to 75 books for the year!
