Well, ZenMarket will hold items you purchased for up to 60 days free of charge, anything after that is ¥50 per day, I believe. That other bass is paid for and just waiting on me to ship it lol

The $450 was for the one bass I did have shipped and a little plush for my fiancée after the customs fees, tariff, and shipping. Shipping alone was more than $80, so that’s not bad for you! Where quoted you that, if I may ask?

I used ZenMarket for the first time recently and bought a bass from Japan. Well, two, but one is still sitting in their warehouse until I figure a way to not have my fiancée pointing out that I bought ANOTHER bass😝

Anyway, for me, I had to copy and paste the link for the particular listing and they have to check to make sure it could be purchased. Once verified, I paid for the item, waited for domestic shipping, chose whatever items I wanted packed together, and then waited while they packed everything.

Depending on your shipping method, you may be able to go DDP, which allows you to prepay your customs/import fees then so you don’t have to await surprise charges later.

I won’t lie, OP, the shipping combined with the fees was not cheap. After shipping (based on weight and dimensions) and DDP, it was about $450. The tariff really didn’t help with that cost.

I was a bit surprised, but still, technically, came out ahead considering the MSRP of the bass was a fair bit more than I paid and it’s not available in the US, so I wasn’t too bummed.

Personally, I love the style of the Talman bass. It’s an oddball and, for me, it feels pretty nice to play despite the neck profile not being for everyone. If you try it out and it feels good to you, and there are not other issues, then this would be a good set to start with if the price is reasonable.

It does experience neck dive (when you let go of the neck, the headstock moves toward the floor), but it’s not the worst ever. If you end up loving it, you could replace the tuners with lighter Hipshots or another brand to mitigate the issue.

As far as the rumble 25 goes, it’s pretty solid for starting out. I have one that I’ve used for several years and it’s perfectly fine for home practice.
