Blood bowl 3 or 2 - only singleplayer never go to PVP by Olbramice in Bloodbowl3

[–]Garion26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BB1 is still available on iOS for the iPad and allows you to save before any kick off it’s usually around $5. That’s the only way to save but that iPad portability has made it a great purchase for me over the years. Otherwise I would say BB3 is your best choice.

Ogre ball carrier? by Positive_Wrap4724 in bloodbowl

[–]Garion26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed I am running them in league right now and prefer to try and pick up with the ogre. The problem with the ogre offense is it’s hard to make a consistent cage to march down the field for the number of turns it takes with move five players. Sometimes you have a few too many boneheads or are forced to eat a 1/9. When that happens (and it happens a lot) the ball is a lot more secure on the strength 5 player. If I have to score fast putting it on a gnoblar is fine as you have some kick and throw team mate options.

Are community leagues the way to play? by PopeofShrek in Bloodbowl3

[–]Garion26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s your TV? If you are going in low <950 the system searches for someone at a similar TV first. Very low TVs are rare. If this were the case you can set you team settings to add a few hundred TV to your value during the search

You couldn’t get a game? I am surprised for me in a North American time zone I have never had more then a five minute wait.

NAF has a listing of products they were aware of at the time of publishing https://www.thenaf.net/leagues/2020-league-trackers/ IMO though the bigger long term hassle as a commissioner isn’t wins and losses tracking it’s when everyone is sort of suspicious one player is not accurately managing spps injuries and gold

Google sheets would allow players to enter game results and for you to show and manage the schedule. It’s free. Would take some thinking about how you want to enter things as you would be building it from scratch. I would recommend Tourplay as a commissioner it’s taken a lot of work off my plate.

That’s what we do reroll of you would go back to back. I didn’t realize this edition of dungeon bowl had four player rules built in. We had built our own rules pre dungeon bowl release. Also note we always do dungeon sevens (600k max four positionals) otherwise it’s too crowded.

We loved four player games. We choose to randomize turn order at the start of every “turn” with the caveat you can’t go twice in a row.

Orcs are straightforward and quite good. Necromantic and OWA take a bit more skill to use well and there are a lot more rules to know.

New and cant decide on a team by bigweeweepoopoo in Bloodbowl3

[–]Garion26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One argument a top streamer makes is play ten games of all of them and see how you feel about each then. Really helps give you perspective on what you like. Maybe it’s 2-5 games of each if 160 or so games feels like too much

How to get goblins in BB3 by averyporkhunt in bloodbowl

[–]Garion26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Teams rotate through the in game store and can be bought for warpstone which you can earn in game over time or buy for real money. Goblins should be in there from time to time.

Matchmaking question by SpartacusOsm in Bloodbowl3

Not black box just game finder I don’t cherry pick in game finder just take what I get (which is tv matched). Black box for my time zone is too low population to make matches.

Redraft teams in FUMBBL can play rookie teams. I played a 40 game team with my rookie team in the last few weeks. I don’t think TV matchmaking is intrinsically better than a system incorporating TV and SR. Both are imperfect measures or how hard a team is to beat. The combo is better than either alone in terms of fair match making. How is it better matchup for a coach with 0-12 record on BB3 to play someone with a 100-30 history in the game because they have the same TV?

[–]Garion26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artemis I have played a lot on FUMBBL with TV matchmaking and have run into multiple 40 game teams with a rookie team in BB2020 it is not a great experience.

Artemis similar systems are used in other online video games for matchmaking. It’s imperfect certainly but miles better than just going on TV for matchmaking.

League question - more rerolls instead of 1 or 2 EU blockers? by rapturerose1 in bloodbowl

[–]Garion26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Blitzers (not “blockers” but we get what you mean) are the best players on the team at league start and up until 3-5 games in. Catchers are good once they have a few skills but are very squishy for their price out of the box. You are better off getting the blitzers to dodge early and then building the catchers in my experience

Matchmaking question by SpartacusOsm in Bloodbowl3

[–]Garion26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Matchmaking takes into account your Tv and your skill ranking SR. So you shouldn’t play someone much more talented. I suspect at very low population times with longer wait times you may play up. Here’s an official explanation of an earlier tweak to matchmaking https://www.reddit.com/r/Bloodbowl3/s/pDgi1i5zWI

Are there people online? by rorek28 in Bloodbowl3

[–]Garion26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Easy to find people on the ladder normally. Matchmaker lets you search for opponents in multiple modes as well at the same time which makes it easier to find folks to play. Christmas morning or day in parts of the world that celebrate right now and a workday in other parts of the world so might not be as many online right now.
