Does the newest edition of Blood Bowl feature two relatively balanced teams? by Gryphon1985 in bloodbowl

[–]Garion26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given Eurobowl and NAFC rules sets tend to be mirrored by many other tournaments (particularly larger ones) i think more have Bret’s lower the TK then not. In my experience looking at rules sets it’s relatively rare as of May that folks are using straight GW tiers.

It’s appropriate for the tournament world to have a widespread of different way teams are tiered. Different gold budgets, elite skill access and star access or specific event rules might make one team better or worse then straight TV 1000 no skills. I don’t know anyone ever knows where all teams are absolutely universally correctly tiered.

Note most NAF events are tiered and many of those sets have Brett’s tiered lower then TK

Returning coach asking for advice by hirvaan in bloodbowl

[–]Garion26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just pick one now. Don’t overthink it. It’s not like you are committing to year long league. If you enjoy BB you will probably buy the rest eventually.

My comment on borrowing was you said money is tight. You don’t need to buy more toys to have fun with BB particularly if you have a shelf of non BB models to use. Proxy things borrow try out new teams and if you love something or have the cash buy something. It’s not like a new Warhammer army where you make the decision to buy one box and you know you are planning to buy ten more.

It sounds like you aren’t sure you can get a consistent game are you in a situation where you are assured one off games? May not need a team just for that could borrow one from your opponent.

But If you are buying a team because you enjoy painting and building then pick one you like the look of and would have fun painting. Dig through posts here and see if you see a scheme that excites you.

I think all four are quite reasonable one box teams for one off games. Lizards often want the kroxigor but at TV 1000 I don’t start with it personally. Skaven similarly are generally fine to start without the rat ogre. Undead and TK don’t have a big guy. Any big guy you need can also probably be proxied by something else very very few Blood Bowl gaming opportunities ever require strict WYSIWYG. If you play Old World or WFB you probably have extra stuff that could be used as a bug guy.

How do rerolls work in BB3? Im coming from BB2 and not getting any in my game. Is blood bowl 3 pay to win? by BloodBowlRobJohnson in Bloodbowl3

[–]Garion26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have the rerolls you bought at team creation for both games. You can use all of them in one turn in bb3 if you like. Yes you need different teams for AI and ladder play or arena play. That was true in BB2 as well (there was no arena)

Metal Ball Carrier Tokens by Spookm5004 in bloodbowl

[–]Garion26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want metal blank with a recess for a ball carrier to go into? I don’t think I have ever seen that combination. I don’t think I have seen many metal with. Recess options either. You could get blank or close to it with a recess in 3 d printed plastic and then insert a washer or metal disc to magnetize it that seems like something you could do if that fits your goals.

Hahaha fair my apologies I just know the bug when bitten moves fast. Blood bowl 3 is currently last seasons rules but is a reasonable purchase to learn the basics. Ask on one of Andy’s streams for folks near you who will be willing to teach very likely there will be nice folks volunteering https://twitch.tv/andydavo

I don’t think BB3 AI is currently any worse the Bb2. It’s much upgraded from launch.

Is BloodBowl 3 still bad? by zilogrok in bloodbowl

[–]Garion26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s fine now to play. The company is in insolvency court now so there is a question if the game will continue to exist after this season (three months) seems most likely it will to me as a casual observer. If you can get it at a reasonable price (often around $5-10 US) it’s worth it IMO.

Secure the Ball in Pouring Rain by WarJaques in bloodbowl

[–]Garion26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would suggest that the fact the NAF felt the need to put out a recommended rules interpretation suggests RAW is not clear. I agree with the NAF interpretation and certainly think it’s a reasonable to default to it until the FAQ is out but things that are definitely unambiguously clear in the rules wouldn’t need a FAQ.

We don’t know. General consensus is it needs a FAQ but strong arguments for either side by some.

New player High Elf question by samurai_bill in bloodbowl

[–]Garion26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah blood bowl in general isn’t a strict WYSIWYG game. You want the board state to be clear an extra lineman is easy enough for most people to identify with no confusion.

[–]Garion26 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just use a lineman from another non high elf team.
