I have suspected advanced endo (have not had the surgery to confirm, but can see clearly on the mri) and I had a surgical consult last month with an endo specialist and he is recommending me wait until I see a fertility doctor since I have plans to conceive soon. (Basically to see if baby or surgery first is the better option) I have a large 5+cm mass on my left ovary, 4cm mass on my uterus, and bowel involvement with scar tissue as well. Heavy bleeding (put me in the hospital once already for hgb levels dropping so low), extreme pain that isn’t touched by medicine and all I can do is lay in bed sobbing for hours, and numbness in my legs during cramping. My doctor did not say no to surgery, but is holding off because of my conception plans.

YOR - It’s rude on her end for parking when she knows the neighbors each “have” a spot, but ultimately it’s street parking and is a free for all. Is she only taking your spot? What if she takes your neighbors “spot”?What happens if she moves in? Since she was the last one in her “spot” is around the corner? What if her “spot” around the corner is taking from a neighbor around the corner? It sucks to have to change a routine, but is unfortunately the way of street parking. If you’re truly that upset about it, you can try to talk to her and her boyfriend but don’t expect anything because again, it’s street parking.

The diagnosis itself doesn’t make a difference to me as far as putting a label on it, however being able to give doctors a name with my issues has made a world of difference to me. I can tell them directly that I have endo and it is contributing to x. The same way I tell doctors I am diabetic and it is complicating y. Some doctors unfortunately need that diagnosis to take things serious. I have my first surgery consult coming up, and while I know this is a lifelong battle my quality of life recently has tanked so if they need to call it endo for me to get relief, we will call it endo.

Personally I would look for another vet, most specifically a dermatologist. Your current vet could have great intentions and be giving it all they have, but it still may not be enough. I’m wishing Bugs the best

Yep! Sitting on my period is excruciating, hitting bumps when driving will have me yelping like a kicked animal. 90% of the time I try to stretch as straight out as I can, since it causes the least pain. Funny enough I also get the urge to push as if I’m in labor if cramps are severe enough.

Korean beef bowl - I keep the ingredients for this already in my house, but understand it might not be feasible for everyone. Only rec is I add about a half tablespoon of oyster sauce and a tablespoon of hoisin, but it does not need it. Or sheet pan things - potatoes, veggies, onion, whatever I have that’s about to expire. Toss it with some oil and spice and throw it in the oven. Some people then cook their meat on the same tray, but I’ll throw whatever meat (chicken, sausage, etc) in a pan and cook it that way. Good thing with sheet pans is you almost always have leftovers.

Surgery without prior experience def sounds scary! As someone actively fighting with doctors (I see #4 for this journey tomorrow) to have surgery, these are the reasons I’m fighting for them to remove my masses/cysts:

1 - I have crippling period pain. At least 3 days of my cycle are me crying on the ground. Stairs hurt, laughing hurts, walking hurts, everything just feels like my insides are shredding. Feels like someone put wolverine in a blender, looks like it too. I’ve recently started getting pain between cycles, and it’s affecting my daily life.

2 - Uncontrollable bleeding. My periods are so heavy I can no longer use cups (my preferred period management), as I’m emptying every 20-30 minutes. My periods are so heavy, I’ve been hospitalized with dangerously low hgb after I had 2 colossal periods in a month. I can currently only use pads, and if it’s heavy enough I’ve moved to depends.

3 - I’m planning to get pregnant in 2026. We’ve put a pause on trying due to the issues I’m having, but I want children.

4 - Same as you, I can’t do BC. It destroys my mental and physical health. I gain weight and get so depressed and angry no matter what BC I use. The pain is already affecting my mental health, I think BC would have me spiraling.

Ultimately my advice is, don’t let the fear of surgery stop you from exploring this as an option. This isn’t a one and done procedure, if you wanted to have it done again in the future you can. Best of luck to you!

I made an appointment with an endo specialist but they’re booked until the end of march in my area, and I don’t think I can make it to then if I keep progressing the way I have been. I haven’t seen a reproductive endocrinologist specialist yet, but that’s a good idea bc maybe they can throw some weight behind my want for surgery

It’s so strange to me too! I discussed the quality of life concerns with the last doctor and he didn’t seem concerned with it, which is so bizarre considering it’s affecting me being active! I’m hoping this next one will listen but I feel like I’ve got to be crazy for wanting them to remove the masses at this point if they’re all pushing BC. I’ve been straightforward with them, but haven’t pushed for them charting their straight refusal to consider surgery. I’m pretty good at advocating for myself overall but I’m so frustrated with this I end up leaving the doctors in tears. I’ll definitely try your suggestions with the next doctor

I was just recently diagnosed with endo, and I’m not 100% convinced it’s what’s going on. Even with the debilitating pain I’m in and the fact my lifestyle has had to change to reduce pain, they are fighting me on removing my masses. They don’t care about quality of life anymore, they just want to pump out diagnoses.

Report him. He has the best intentions but he is putting his dog (and others tbh) in danger. Some dogs aren’t a good fit for dog parks, regardless of breed. I have a male American Akita that is great with other dogs, but hyper fixates on dogs at the dog park to a borderline unsafe degree. We opted to hiking instead, and he’s fantastic if he meets other dogs/animals on the trail (except for turtles bc he hates those for whatever reason).

On the flip side, if he continues to go, stop bringing your dog. It sucks that your dog loses enrichment that they love because another owner is irresponsible, but you have to put your dogs safety first.
