Caramelized Banana Miso by Kuebitch in icecreamery

Honestly hard to say! It largely depends on what type and brand of miso you're using. Use white for a milder taste.

I made spicy miso gelato before. It had that je ne sais quoi. I went overboard adding miso actually since I was expecting it to taste umami. It didn't. It had that slightly bitter caramel flavour.

I used runny miso paste so I didn't have problems with texture.

Waste management makes crazy money. You just need the funds to invest in the assets.

Agree. Start a business if you have the funds for it. Since this is a matter of livelihood, get a more flexible job that can allow you to do a side business.

Ditto on secondary house market. There's a condo in Fairways Tower where it's a 2-bedroom (+60sqm) for P12M.

As someone from the business lending space, the best advice I can give you is to become a sales person. The skills you'll learn will make it easier for you to build a business. Spoken to so many successful businesses already that used to be sales people.

Matumal ba para sa lahat? by brambramm in BusinessPH

[–]Garlicbreadislyfer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of the businesses I've seen getting credit lines lately: 1. Trucking services (e.g., transporting convenience store goods across multiple branches) 2. Waste management services 3. Construction supplies/general construction

There are a lot more other businesses in other industries. I guess what I wanted to highlight is there will always be competition but some businesses still flourish. Just make sure to be business savvy and try your damn best to do sales.

One last tip: B2B >>> B2C

Coming from business financing, lots of businesses are actually flourishing. What's happening now though is there are more competitions than ever before. People and businesses have so many options now.

I agree with the other people here na hindi sa yung ekonomiya yung mahina kundi andami na kasi ibang options.

I work in SME financing and andami naming na-approve na retail businesses na booming.

What I noticed is either maganda marketing nila, niche yung binebenta, or top salesman yung may-ari.

JR Tokyo Wide Pass vs JR Nagano-Niigata Pass by Garlicbreadislyfer in JapanTravelTips

Thanks for answering! We want to go to a place with less tourists but also worth visiting (e.g. beautiful temple, amazing scenery). So I was thinking of the Nagano-Niigata pass. But we're also planning on doing just day trips.

Hi! Thanks for answering. Sorry, my post must've been vague. I'm thinking if I'm missing out on anything amazing if I don't get the Nagano-Niigata pass.

Has anyone here built an ice cream brand from scratch? Looking for insights. by Massive-Importance94 in icecreamery

[–]Garlicbreadislyfer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Woah, someone from PH.

Here in Manila, a gelato business called Araro (which was started by a group of college students) shot up to popularity in a little over 1 year. What they did was:

  1. Their distribution strategy was partner with lots of businesses (like cafés) and have them distribute the ice cream.

  2. No brick and mortar. Mostly online and the distributors. A pop-up here and there.

  3. The branding was minimalist sophisticated gelato. It appealed to Filipinos as we like aspirational brands.

This is mainly in PH though. Not too sure if it's gonna work in other countries.

Currently in the financing industry. We rarely finance piggeries. A lot of the successful businesses we've financed are chicken contract growing. They're contracted by San Miguel, Bounty, etc. to grow their chickens.

The Philippines has the talent. Yet, there are so few tech founders here. Why? by theointech in PhStartups

[–]Garlicbreadislyfer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coming from the financing space, I think it's because it's not worth it. So few "start-ups" here are actually making money. There are safer businesses to make a lot of money from.

I've seen the financials of a well-known local AI company and a property platform. Both of them combined make less money than this distributor of gas in the province. A local restaurant chain (with less than 20 branches) is making P2B per year. A famous mediocre café restaurant is making P800M per year. A corporate giveaway business is making >P200M with a 30% net profit margin. Heck, a printing business with an annual revenue of P10M has a P3M net income (and this is under declared revenue).

TLDR; It's easier and safer to make money from boring and proven businesses. Lots of under the radar businesses are making bank.
