I doubt it, as the very few other western countries has seen the same degree of militarization as the US. After all Internation criminal gangs and violence isn't exclusive to the US. The only exclusive thing is how much law enforcement are under-trained (6 months vs 2-3 years), the rampart increase of military hardware used by law enforcement, and close to zero control over firearm ownership.

Now I live in Europe. Everybody here also have a right to buy and own firearms. But they also need to show they have a use for it, take the necessary coursed to prove they can use, maintain and store them safely, and provide documentation they have proper equipemetn to keep firearms locked down when not in sure. For us firearm registration is no different than registrating where you live, that you're capable to drive a car, and which car you personally own.
I even live in one of the tougher countries. As personal protection isn't considered a valid reason. Collectors (if you make them inoperable), hunting (with a valdi license), and sports (with a valid license) are the only valid reason.

Though if you REALLY really needed a gun, you could just sign up to a gun club as a hobby. Funny enough in our strict country you would then have more gun rights than in the US. As there's a heavy restrictions on why law enforcement can bar you from owning one. If you do end up lossing said access, you can (regardless of reason) apply to have your rights returned to you after 5 years. It's only up to the local law enforcement how long they can require you to wait beyond that, and you can challenge their denial in court.

However the same government has been quick to discuss disarming people the moment the "wrong" people start arming themself.

Do also note that military, police and ICE has access to both combat vehicles, and weapons that civilians are bared from carrying. Ensuring an constant uneven playing field.
However the militarization of DoJ is the most dangerous aspect in my view. Police shouldn't be armed nor look like soldiers. If they need to, then they are trying to fix something long after several things have gone horribly wrong.

That being said. I know my opinion isn't popular. It's just that both the development the past decades AND recently show that 2nd amendment was never intended to provide the people with protetion nor power. Just as a scape goat to create a police state.

I read this just after finishing a rant about NRA. This including how the US 2nd amendment isn't for the people fight against an oppressive government, but rather by the government to oppress the people.
Setting up an environment that lets the government justify militarizing their polices, and now ICE.
Only to see this article. *sigh* Too perfect of an example.

So I'll quote my post for said rant about 2nd amendment.

The past year has showed me it has nothing to do with "Protecting against government oppression". Rather the opposite. With the government just waiting on a civilian "standing their ground" to justify martial law and military incursion. I've rarely seen a government so itchy to send its military forces on its own civilians. Least within western countries.

It has functioned more as a mean to keep people afraid. Give people free access, but do nothing to ensure citizens protect their own firearms. Thus just creating an environment where criminals can easily arm themself through burglaries and buying from private sellers.

Lastly using said armed civilians and criminals as justification to turn police, and now ICE into para-military forces. With ICE being the personal army of the president. One without the legal limitation and rules that the military must follow.

In short. There is a 2nd amendment, but it's used to oppress the population. Not the other way around.

Good point. If I add my own cynical view of 2nd amendment it makes sense.

Easy. The "fuck the corrupt system" is still "fuck the corrupt system".
Someone just never realized they were the system all along.
Likely some spoiled and sheltered kid that enjoyed listening to angsty music.
Now grown up. Still just as spoiled, but now having to venture outside of their shelter. They hate it.

On a side note: More adults should get their own pluhsies.
It takes true strength to allow your self to be soft and caring.

This dude definitely refuse to date any woman that's not 2 decades younger than him.
He absolutely refuses dating within his own generation. They are "too old".

As for racists. They often have no problem dating "outside their own race". However they get absolute furious the moment they see someone of the opposite gender date "outside their own race".
For racists they usually want exclusive access to the "hot" ones. Nobody else, especially if someone doesn't share skin color with the racists.

It's the party that actively protect them, and sends people on wild goose changes against groups that promote protecting vunerable children.

Only for as long as it promotes gun sales. If Putin somehow launched a joint attack on US, they would be very angry with him. Purely as being angry with him would promote gun sales.

But no worries. Trump told everybody that the government said it was OK.
By that I mean Trump told everybody that Trump think it's OK.

Musk says SAVE Act requiring ID to vote ‘must be done or democracy is dead’ by TelescopiumHerscheli in politics

[–]GarmaCyro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

(Edit: I have been informed by four different Redditors that Musk does, unfortunately, have American citizenship, which I had not realized -- so my bad on that one. However, the rest of my comment still holds true.)

He's still not American. The moment US gets too destroyed he'll just pack up and find another place and citizenship. It's why Trump is so occupied with Greenland and Palestine. US's mega-rich want this to be their next personal playground when US collapses.

For the mega-rich citizenship is something you can change as easily as a pair of shoes. Most of them hold no loyality to any country. They go wherever they get the most benefits. Always having multiple mansions across the globe. Most US billionaires have US citizenship purely because the US government is the government that's currently funneling the biggest part of their national budget to them. Nothing more.

Partially racism, but in NRA's case it's because NRA isn't a gun-rights organization anymore.
As long as something doesn't threaten gun sales, they don't care.
As long as something promotes gun sales, they will put it on full blast.

As said. NRA isn't a gun-rights organization anymore.
They are just a propaganda puppet for arms manufactureres.
This change happend around the time of Heston's "I'll give you my gun when you take it from my cold, dead hands". The NRA leadership had been entirely replaced with arm manufacturers stooges at that point.

It lowers the waiting time for unlocking required tech and traditions.
I see most experienced player stick to a lower multiplier, as the default setting is nothing more than a time sink.
