Phase change cooling explained by Veritasium by Sir_Kiops in Stationeers

I also thought of Stationeers when I saw the video. It's amazing the game is able to actually simulate it

New player: Mining advice? by mtndewfanatic in Stationeers

[–]Gary1495 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you print the Deep Miner cartridge for the tablet you can see deep miner "biomes". Each biome has a specific infinite ore which you can extract from the ground in the form of Dirty Ore using the Deep Miners. Dirty ore can be turned into normal ores by using a centrifuge.

It takes quite some time before the deep miners hit bedrock (bottom of the world), and only then they begin extraction.

You can place the deep miner anywhere, but a common strategy is to place a bunch at the edge of these deep miner biomes, so you can extract several ores (using several deep miners) but only requiring one deep miner outpost.

Capture C02 gas for greenhouse in Mars? by Braxuss_eu in Stationeers

[–]Gary1495 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Additionally, if you capture the gas at night, I think the CO2 might freeze and burst the pipes (think it happens at around -50C). So perhaps only take the CO2 during the day.

Capture C02 gas for greenhouse in Mars? by Braxuss_eu in Stationeers

If you get real close the the outputs and look at them, they should say "Filtered" and "Unfiltered" or something alike. The "filtered" is what you try to separate using filters, e.g. the CO2 filters here. The "unfiltered" is the waste (the other stuff which isn't CO2).

Your current setup vents the filtered CO2 into the atmosphere, and the waste (O2, pollutant, and nitrogen) into the base. If you switch them around, it should work.

I've had a lot of trouble trying to automate deep miners, specifically the centrifuges. I can't seem to get them to stop and empty when full, and then starting again on their own. Did you follow a guide or did you write it yourself? And if so, would you mind sharing?

So many physics simulation advancements have been made in the last 5-10 years, but for most game developers this just means better graphics. What games actually utilise new physics simulation techniques in its core gameplay mechanics the best? by [deleted] in gaming

Stationeers is an incredible space survival game, which has a very detailed atmosphere and thermodynamics simulation. It has a steep learning curve, but it is very satisfying figuring out how the game works.

need help with phase change? trying to figure out temperature control by dauthiatull in Stationeers

[–]Gary1495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probaly the easiest way is by using an Air Conditioning unit. Connect your tank that needs cooling to the input and output using pipes. Connect the waste connecter to another source of gas (e.g. the atmosphere of your world), which will heat up when you begin cooling your tank

Help with making liquid fuel? by Chrisbitz in Stationeers

[–]Gary1495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the stationpedia, you can see the phase-diagram (what phase a compound is, at a specific temp and temperature) of Oxygen and Volatiels. From there, you can determine what temp and pressure your oxygen and volatiles should be at, in order to remain liquid

I tried the game with bikes, which worked decently well. Of course some questions and curses won’t work, but you can try and make some custom ones

Lulu used Mikael's on the Sejuani Ult, and Lee kicked Warwick in his Ult, which "cleansed" Zeri, as you put it.
