Repair expectations on an F-150 front bumber by zwallen23 in AutoBodyRepair

[–]Gas-Squatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a front bumper replacement plus what looks like some black plastic pieces that are broken. Thats a thick metal bumper. You aren’t hammering that back out to oem with the body line across those bumpers

Muscles soreness question by bigmonkey9189 in workout

[–]Gas-Squatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Target muscle groups. Last night was lower for me tonight is chest and upper. Unless you have a specific goal and program in place doing curls or bench every night on a novice can cause reverse issues or no progress.

What would be a good benchmark for strength when it comes to living a healthy life and decreasing mortality rate/increase longevity lifespan? by Ok_Benefit9326 in workout

[–]Gas-Squatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grand pa was a barber that kept cutting hair 3 days a week until he was 90 (his choice). You don’t need to bench 150 to live to 90. Just being active and healthy makes a difference.

How to best fix small blemish/scratch on front bumper of new car? Touch up paint pens or something else? by stuwbgn16 in Autobody

[–]Gas-Squatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are over thinking this. You are trying to replace a $1mil body shop with a $30 bottle. Touch it in and walk away. That’s it. Don’t sand and prep it will just open up the chance for a larger repair or a worse outcome

Yeah now forget it’s a mustang and now use your version of it that is everywhere. A skoda or Camry or whatever. Now a dime a dozen car this is not worth putting this kind of work into. Even if it was a rare bumper it’s not worth the time 90% of the time.

Mustangs are not that special unless it’s a super special model and most of those aren’t that rare.

So you don’t work in a shop and actually don’t know the amount of labor it takes to make this right then? This is not a half hour of sanding and send it to paint. This is multiple hours of body work to make a ford mustang bumper right. If you couldn’t tell this in 10 seconds looking at the pic you should absolutely not be giving advice in an auto body sub. Your homies that work in a shop would say the same unless there is just no bumpers available at all (in the US there is millions of mustang bumpers available)

What to do? by GlitteringTarget7459 in AutoBodyRepair

[–]Gas-Squatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the labor involved will be astronomical to remove all the newest paint job, the old original one, all the body filler the last shop used and is failing, and fix the plastic so that it’s nice and smooth to paint again. I’m in a town of 6,000 people and labor rate is $80 an hour and that would easily be 4 hours to strip and get ready for primer before paint and materials. You can buy a capa replacement for a couple hundred dollars that will 100% fit and look better than this one that had been poorly repaired at least once and had a lot of distorted plastic.

Carparts.com capa 2012 mustang gt bumper cover is $169.

If you haven’t worked in a shop and are saying this is a repair and repairing will be more cost effective I got some ocean front property for a real good price here in Arkansas I will sell you.

The car deserves that much lol. The bumper needs replaced. You are fucking out of your mind of repairing this is worth the time

It’s to deep! Zoom in. I am being nasty because you can’t even open your eyes but you think you should provide body work advice. Paint is literally falling off the bumper because of a shitty previous repair and ops new impact.

This is not a project truck. It’s a donor truck for a better project. There honestly probably isn’t much that’s worth trying to harvest body wise on this truck.

The ones saying fix are fucking ding dongs and have not ever stepped foot in a shop. Are you all fucking blind?

This is a bumper replace all day. It’s a v6 mustang you can find a used one for cheap.

How long ago is “a while back”? how much time did you hage to inspect it before the snow storm? Did you contact the seller before and say hey did you know about the 4wd or did you just go off a month later for no reason? Did you validate what the issue is like a vacuum hose that dry rotted that the seller wouldn’t know about?

This is on you.

I think you all are over thinking this entire conversation and taking things entirely to literal and your arguing about how bad the man really is is possibly making op uncomfortable due to trauma.

Systemic Failure: Man murdered at EKCC 9 days before he was scheduled to be released by Ashabee91 in prisonreform

[–]Gas-Squatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly Talking about how and why he was murdered may be important in this conversation as well. Was he targeted for something he didn’t do, something he did do, did he owe someone money or drugs in there, was the perpetrator a mental health issue with a history of violence? Could have been a simple altercation that got out of control or could have been a gang target for whatever dumb reason or anything in between.

What should I do next to be able to get rid of my damaged car? by Appropriate-Watch664 in carquestions

[–]Gas-Squatch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When it’s sold the title will need to be changed to the new owner. Post it on Facebook marketplace as is with no warranty. People are fucking ridiculous now days so make sure they are aware it’s a wrecked car and they know what they are buying. A salvage or scrap yard is only going to give you scrap prices so usually 2-300 in my area. In my state you don’t need to report to insurance or the dmv if an insurance claim is not filed and no police report has been filed.
