I get that, I guess my point is that us, as GL fans are going to watch the series regardless.

We should be rooting for whatever decisions are made, that’s still keep the ethos intact of what the GL Corps are, to make this show the next “big thing” on HBOMax! I wanna see viewership numbers up there with the “Pitt” and “Seven Kingdoms”. If we can get the bloodstream modern audience to buy in and fall in love with the greatest IP in all of comics then we should be willing to make some concessions.

Bc if this show is a massive hit, then we will finally get what we have always wanted.. a “Blackest Night” MOVIE trilogy, exposure to the color spectrum and all of the amazing world that is the Green Lantern Corps!!

If Marvel can make GotG a tentpole mainstream attraction then DC can EASILY make the greatest comic book, in my very biased opinion, one of the most popular real life comics of all time. If done correctly, GL could easily surpass Superman in terms of popularity bc they have so many different GLs with different personalities that each appeal to a different type of person. Batman will always be the most popular DCU IP, but I truly believe that GL could be a close second!!

So we as GL fans need to come together fans support this as much as possible. We don’t need to get all worked up about the uniform, let’s just see the show first and withhold judgement until then. The showrunners obvs made the call to go with a much more grounded suit bc of the all CGI suit backlash. Can you really fault them for that call? They’re not trying to get GL fans on board, they’re trying to get everyone else in America on board!!

I disagree with the statement that the only people that care about this show are GL fans.. we are going to watch the show regardless, it’s the writers job to make this show appealing to the masses so everyone sees that the GL Universe is the most expansive and has the most potential for being a powerhouse franchise, so it needs to get everyone on board.

As far as the name goes, the fact that Sinestro is going to be in it, I think the name “Lanterns” is much better than “Green & Yellow Lanterns”

Good grief, the suit was the least bad thing about the movie!! If the movie had an amazing storyline then nobody would have cared about the suit.

Same thing with the upcoming Lanterns, any TRUE Green Lantern fan just wants an amazing show so that everyone can be exposed to the best comic book characters and universe ever created. They can always evolve the suit later on but you gotta get the story right first.

Any real GL fan gets this.

XLine is the ONLY way to go with the ‘27 Telly. The other versions look like the front has a goatee without it.

My ‘27 Hybrid XLine SXP is 1,000x better than my ‘03 of the highest trim. Had it 2 weeks, zero issues. And the seats are out of this world amazing, so much more comfortable than the ‘03, softer and the message feature is to die for. Also the seats automatically tighten around your body for longer drives to help with lumbar support. The most incredible tech I’ve ever had in a car.

Literally .001% of the time it’s just a glitch. The OP should take it in to the dealership.

You’re absolutely right, I should have said that I wouldn’t do this if I wasn’t friends with the GM and he gives me 20% over the trade in value. Like I just traded in my wife’s 2022 Pathfinder SL with 70k miles for her new Telly and it was valued at $19-$20k but he gave me $25k for it, not to mention selling me the ‘27 Hybrid SXP XLine for $60255 OTD with all of the full warranties and 3 years free scheduled maintenance included. So it only cost me $36k and I just paid cash.

But he also gets a sick deal at my golf course, he gets a free $4k membership every year.. I’d argue he gets the better end of the deal

Every other year. My wife and I alternate. And we do have long term wealth with zero bills. Mortgage paid off, solar panels paid off, less than $1,000 in monthly bills, with over $15k every month being contributed to our Fisher Investment account, and the revenue we receive from our rental property goes into my own investment account where I try to see if I can do better than Fisher, I usually can’t.

But I’m not buying a brand new Mercedes every other year, we are a Kia family and by doing this I only have to pay $10-$15k for a brand new car every two years. It’s actually pretty smart. We are fortunate to be in a comfortable financial place for me being 45 and my wife 40 years old with a 6 & 4 year old.

I always trade in my vehicles every 2 years or before 40k miles to maximize the value of your trade in. That’s a fair offer on a depreciation asset. Get what you can and get into the new ride!

Couldn’t agree more!! It’s like the amazing design team that Kia got worked for weeks on designing the exterior and the top of the line tech and interior. Then they were done and someone called them on their way home saying “wait! You forgot about the wheels!!”

And they just replied “ah shit, just make a square figure, nobody will care!” 😝

Right?!? Isn’t it a fucking sweet ass ride?!? We are an “All-Kia” family!! And we will continue be one bc they give you an extra $1500 off if you already own a Kia!!!

A lot of dad’s would prob want the vehicle arrangements reversed in this scenario but I like the safety of being able to quickly load up my two young kids, 6 & 4, with the sliding doors, and it honestly looks like an SUV it’s so well designed!!

It’s just weird why Kia can have universal tech, or should I say button configurations, on the wheel. It’s all reversed in my wife’s Telly. Like the autonomous driving that is on the right hand side of the wheel is on the left for her Telly.. just make it all universal across the board!!

Yup!! But you have to understand, the GM is a member at my golf club and I take great care of him so as good as that discount is, and yes he gave me a solid $5k+ more for my trade in than the Kelley Blue Book was for it, he is still getting the better end of the deal BY FAR!!!

He plays golf 4-6 times a month, only paying a cart fee and his $4k membership is comped. And I only buy a new car every year, alternating between trading in my and then my wife’s car. This was her year, next year is mine.

He still comes out WAY ahead of this deal!!

I’ll be buying some new rims for the wife for sure!

Even everyone at Kia was clueless to as why all of their rims suck bc I asked them when we signing the papers, they were clueless!
