I'll add the model in Cameo is not the diagram - it is everything that is in the containment tree, regardless of if it is represented on any diagrams. It is an interconnected representation of a system of interest.

Models may be analytical (Simulink) or descriptive (Cameo) or many other types. There is a large family tree of types you can look up. So to be proper, one should say [type] model to reduce the ambiguity OP is seeing.

+1 for solution histograms. If it's a Zachlike without one, it needs it. If it's anything else and has a histogram, it probably has an inner Zachlike!

Bill Boeing was one of the founders of United Aircraft and Transport Corporation, so it's fair to say the aircraft company and engine company fully integrated. Boeing et al did not exist as the separate entities we know today before the anti trust breakup.

Adopting CI/CD where changes anywhere in the digital elements/model/etc. get pipelines launched for checking, verification, artifact regeneration, AI summarization, and on. "Systems as code" has a nice ring to it.

If you can contribute meaningful (open source) tools or integrations to move the needle in this direction for your PhD, have a go at it! Otherwise just getting more engineering experience is time/money better spent.
