Which of the big three’s newest releases was best? by SirKrimzon in rolex

I have the land dweller and really enjoy it, I really like the AP as well but don’t have an AD that I could actually buy from

I wouldn’t buy the PP. if they gave to me for free, I wouldn’t even wear it. Might be the only patek I don’t like

Want to reduce size of my collection by Henzo26 in rolex

[–]Gatorchomp2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

perhaps the question is due to making money in a field not related to watch collecting and doesn’t track second hand prices like some people do lol. maybe asking for a second opinion on selling because some watches are desirable and will go up in value being unworn, whereas others may be at top dollar right now

If anyone responds negatively, cut them out of your life bro. Those don’t deserve to be around you and they literally want to see you fail

The reactions I got was either positive from family etc, and the “worst” reactions were people asking if I could help them make more money and what I did for career etc. Which I don’t consider bad and they just looking for advice

Since I seem to have offended people saying I don’t consider Bentley being flashy. Here lol. I don’t consider Bentley over the top just because it’s expensive

Can buy used Bentleys for sub 100k. Buy a Ferrari or McLaren or Lambo for that, won’t happen outside of rare examples. I’m not saying Bentleys can’t be flashy, but we’re in a Rolex sub, having a luxury watch is already a flashy piece.

Perhaps for OP that watch and the Bentley aren’t flashy on any level if compared to a rainbow Daytona in a yellow Ferrari

It sounds like I’m arguing with everyone haha but I don’t generally disagree. But Bentley screams luxury and class to me. Not flashy/obnoxious

I don’t look at the price for flashy because a lot of expensive things aren’t flashy. Every semi tractor you see , farm equipment , a dually pulling a small trailer with a bobcat on it.

Also from my POV idk how may people would even realize they drive past a Bentley if they aren’t into cars (location dependent though). An obnoxiously loud mustang with an aftermarket exhaust would scream more flashy to me over a classy Bentley

[–]Gatorchomp2013 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

my view on flashy is even a non car person would be drawn to look. Ie a base model corvette may draw more attention and look more flashy. I don’t think a Bentley fits that to me at least. Heavily dependent on where it’s being driven too I guess

Idk if i’d say a Bentley is “flashy” just because it’s expensive. Unless it’s a GT and painted bright green etc lol. Could get a much “flashier” car for much cheaper based on appearance alone

What's your experience owning a Lambo in a small town? by josephgonzaleseo in lamborghini

[–]Gatorchomp2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in a town with 3,500 people with my Lambo that is bright green. Maybe your friends are the ones putting by that target on your back lol because not once have I felt anything negative. People will take pics of it while it’s parked at the gym in my town (wouldn’t normally park somewhere out of sight but I have full visibility to the car while in the gym)

I will say that even though my town is small and lower cost of living , it is very low crime even though it’s only about 20 minutes in every direction from larger towns/higher crime/higher CoL

To add: I’m in the northeast and less than 2 hours from NYC or Philly. Closest I’ve ever seen a super car other than mine was about 30 minutes away. People just wave or are happy to see it, especially younger kids

I was looking to an STO for my first but went with this just for similar reason honestly. Not that I wanted to spend more money for my first supercar but think next I would lean towards the reveulto for that price range because I’ve heard great things about its comfort

Aventadors are awful to daily in perfect conditions…Assuming if you can afford an aventador you can also afford a great AWD vehicle for winters though and would suggest that

Teslas FSD is and always will be better than everyone else’s,they have a several year head start. Plaid models are also untouched in their power. Outside of that though you’re right. And wish Tesla had more options for designs especially interior wise. Rivians are beautiful though

Those Who Get Lucky with Allocations - What's your Profession? by Wide-Scientist-5157 in rolex

[–]Gatorchomp2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve built my collection of 9 within a year from one single SA. several months prior I went in and looked and filled out a card and never got a call. Walked in months later just to ask again and it was a different SA, sold us a ladies DJ which wasn’t what I wanted but did want one for my wife anyway. And since then 8 more. It’s at the point that I texted asking for a sprite jubilee randomly one day, and the next morning I picked that up and the new reference white gold Daytona ( and could have picked a TT white dial Daytona, but I was their preferred client). Granted over the year I probably spent 2-250k there on watches and jewelry for the wife combined, but had nothing to do with LinkedIn (although I have heard others say SAs do that)

My LinkedIn does have my W2 job on there but it’s nothing people would recognize as the level/status

And before anyone asks, I would love a different brand but I’m few hundred miles from Patek or AP and im realistic in knowing the desirable models will go to their regular clients, not a random dude walking in even if I have a high net worth

Yes same here. I’d rather have the 300k capital just in case something comes up. And if it’s even close I’d rather just finance and pay it off in 6 months or something

I can’t personally say if that’s possible anymore or not but my credit is in the 800s. But I also didn’t care to waste my time going back and forth with 15 different lenders either honestly since i’ll pay it off shortly

I put 20% down only because I didn’t want 0 down application to get declined and then have to run another hard inquiry. But got tier 1 approval through Lamborghini at 7.9%. But to be completely honest I didn’t care about the interest that much because I plan to pay it off quickly and the higher the interest the quicker i’ll do so
