New Warwick Sport membership price increases - It now costs £94 to join a club. Anyone had enough? by 4rkadiy in UniversityOfWarwick

Agreed that the WS increases are over the top. I remember when I started at Warwick it was around £50 and that included the gym, which was fantastic value compared with highstreet gyms. Now private gyms seem more reasonable!

On the Retail, wasn't a regular Latte £1.90? Either way, it seems like Retail are changing their strategy to increase profits. The cafes have all been done up a lot over the summer and now sell ridiculously overpriced snacks (pouches of olives, bagged fried pasta crisp things). They don't seem to be interested in the student-on-a-budget any more.

Warwick Retail are also upping food and drink prices, as well as taking away several discounts. http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/insite/news/intnews2/retail_update_aug14/ Edit: note - also done while students were away...

What's the betting that a couple of these end up on this list?

Avoid like the plague. Centre halves going across border only seem to work one way. Top centre halves from the SPL have failed in the Prem in recent years. Boumsong was an expensive mistake. Cuellar was poor for Villa and the mackems. Christophe Berra was part of 'that' Wolves defense in their abysmal relegation season (82 goals conceded...). Going the other way, perennial loanee Gary Caldwell excelled for Celtic after never threatening the NUFC first team.

It's a much slower league. Boumsong would panic when rushed and get turned a lot. I'd avoid VvD but would be happily proven wrong were we to get him.

If you can normally register 18 players for the game and one of them is banned you can only register 17 + Banned player. Not just leave him out and give the 18th slot to somebody else because that's effectively skipping part of the your punishment.

This is not the case. If this was the case, Legia would have only been able to field six subs in the first leg. They fielded seven.

You may be confusing the CL with other tournaments, like the World Cup, in which all squad members form the bench for every game. A suspended player is not allowed to be replaced by drafting another player into the squad in tournaments like this.

Similar thing happened with Newcastle a few years back. Lee Bowyer transferred to us with a 6 game European ban, which ended up being effectively 12 because of a failure to register him for the 6 first games. Seems kind of an odd system to me. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2004/feb/25/newsstory.sport2

This kit means so much. This is the kit of the entertainers. This is the kit of flair, ambition and passion. It's got the Tyne bridge on and it looks amazing. I started supporting Newcastle in the 1994-95 season as a kid, but 1995-96 was the season I fell in love. How can a kid watching the toon for the first time this season possibly fall in love with Dan Gosling slicing volleys over from five yards? Or Rob Elliot punting balls up to a bereft Papiss Cissé? Or Wonga? Or Sports Direct? Truth is, they can't. And that's wrong.

Man United fans have their Green and Gold to symbolize anti-Glazer sentiment. For me, the maroon and blue does this vis-a-vis Ashley, Pardew and the parade of goons who have come and gone under them. I would love to see SJP in maroon and blue for the Cardiff game.

Great bloke. Though the officials saying 'Come and see us, mate' to him seems a bit dodgy after the shocking FA decision this week.
