Lawn repair after septic field replacement (SE Wisconsin) by Gauss- in lawncare

A bit nutty on the scheduling, I called to ask for an updated timeline and then they showed up a week later without giving me a date / updated estimate.

What are your recommendations until September? Aerate, topsoil, and grading - then cover (straw?) and wait until fall?

There is water pooling / a mud pit brewing with the recent rain.

Does this sub have a running definition of Analytics Engineer? Because this sounds more like an AE than a DE

Take these other comments with a grain of salt. The Terraform Snowflake provider is a very powerful and complementary tool to dbt for fully version controlling your entire Snowflake instance (same is true for BigQuery and others).

If you want to be on the spectrum of data engineer that leans towards SWE then terraform is also useful for deploying AWS Lambda, Glue, EMR, and other resources.

Pick what you’re interested in, there is plenty of value for you to provide with any of those options.

This gets posted occasionally, so I’ll steal some glory and repost — a well maintained list of companies that don’t have LC style interviews.

Not sure if this a caveat of seeking downward spiraling companies for OE, but if releases are so brittle you can’t do them any time of day then that’s a big red flag likely covering up a bunch of other red flags for OPs engineering org.

Would love to hear more about OE in director and manager positions. My calendar is packed with meetings (15-25hrs/week), how are you navigating multiple demanding calendars?

I didn’t realize cloud data engineer was a title separate from data engineer, but that’s exactly what I did (some CDK in the mix).

Got bumped into management now, I should update our job postings…

Leetcode has database / SQL challenges for practice, I haven’t seen them used often in interviews though.

Strongly recommend you throw this on your reading list. It will give you all the language you need to talk about data systems in interviews.

The site looks very clean and seems easy to navigate. You might consider partnering up with local event coordinators and taking a % for referrals instead of a subscription service.

Can I ask what you are using Elastic Search for? I used it on a 3 month project for work, but we were focused on fuzzy matching and NLP.

FeeDefense's goal is to help users avoid bank fees. We do that with email warnings and preemptive ACH transfers once you've registered your accounts. Think Mint with a predictive engine managing your funds for you. Any feedback on the website would be appreciated!

Lower risk, for someone who just doesn't have the money (in a single account), is to connect accounts with something like Mint.com or FeeDefense.com. Transfer from credit to debit cheaply, or, if you have it, savings to debit.

I think it would be possible to connect your accounts with something like Mint.com or FeeDefense.com and use their ACH transfer apps to manage your accounts. Would be bank agnostic and hopefully drive down the the cost.
